The pattern is lovely but I had to work diagram A1 and A2 12 times instead of 9 because the placemat was too tight.

I would prefer to have directions written. Cannot follow charts. It’s a lovely placement but unfortunately cannot do with a chart.

Hej Lisen, jo videre hækler du 2 lm, 1 halvstav, 2 lm, 1 halvstav, 2 lm :)

---------------------------------------------------------- EXPLANATION FOR THE PATTERN: ---------------------------------------------------------- CROCHET TIP FOR CHAIN STITCH: If you work at the end of crochet hook the chain stitch will often be too tight. 1 chain stitch should be just as long as 1 half double crochet/double crochet is wide. CROCHET INFORMATION: On every round beginning with half double crochets begin with 2 chain stitches - these chain stitches are counted as first half double crochet on round. Finish round with 1 slip stitch in 2nd chain stitch at beginning of round. On every round beginning with 2 half double crochets worked together, begin with 2 chain stitches - these chain stitches are counted as first half double crochet in half double crochet group. On round beginning with double crochets (5th round in A.1) work 3 chain stitches - these chain stitches are counted as first double crochet in double crochet group. Finish round with 1 slip stitch in 3rd chain stitch at beginning of round. PATTERN: See diagrams A.1 and A.2. WORK 4 DOUBLE CROCHETS TOGETHER INTO 1 DOUBLE CROCHET: * Make 1 yarn over, insert hook in first/next stitch, get yarn, make 1 yarn over and pull yarn through the 2 first loops on hook *, repeat from *-* 4 times in total, make 1 yarn over and pull yarn through all 5 loops on hook. WORK 3 DOUBLE CROCHETS TOGETHER INTO 1 DOUBLE CROCHET: Begin in the second double crochet in double crochet group and work from *-* in each of the next 2 double crochet and then 1 time around chain stitch as follows: * Make 1 yarn over, insert hook in/around stitch below, get yarn, make 1 yarn over and pull yarn through the 2 first loops on hook *, repeat from *-* 3 times in total, make 1 yarn over and pull yarn through all 4 loops on hook. WORK 2 HALF DOUBLE CROCHETS TOGETHER INTO 1 HALF DOUBLE CROCHET: * Make 1 yarn over, insert hook in next stitch, get yarn *, repeat from *-* 2 times in total, make 1 yarn over and pull yarn through all 5 loops on hook. ---------------------------------------------------------- START THE PIECE HERE: ---------------------------------------------------------- PLACEMAT – SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE: Worked in the round from the middle and outwards. PLACEMAT: Begin on hook size 4 MM = US 6 and DROPS Muskat. Work 5 chain stitches - read CROCHET TIP FOR CHAIN STITCH, and form a ring with 1 slip stitch in first chain stitch. Read CROCHET INFO and work A.1 9 times in total around chain stitch ring. REMEMBER THE CROCHET GAUGE! When diagram A.1 has been worked vertically, there are 16 double crochets in every double crochet group and 2 chain stitches between every double crochet group. Now work A.2 9 times in total on round - begin on round marked with arrow (first round in A.2 shows last round in A.1). When A.2 has been worked vertically, fasten off. |
