Bon tricot!

Love the design of all your patterns but there are so many people who do not understand DIAGRAMS. Is it not possible to write the actual patterns from start to finish??? So disappointed when I see a pattern on your site that I love and afraid to start it because Diagrams are just not for a lot of people.
02.10.2018 - 00:57DROPS Design answered:
Dear Mrs Skinner, start reading diagrams from the bottom corner on the right side toward the left and work every round from the right towards the left (when working in the round) - For patterns worked back and forth, start the same way (unless other information stated) and read the WS rows from the left towards the right. Do not hesitate to contact your DROPS store - even per Email or telephone- for any further individual assistance reading diagrams. Happy knitting!

Bon tricot!

PATTERN: See diagram M.1 (= 4 sts). Diagram shows the pattern from RS. -------------------------------------------------------- HAT: Worked in the round on circular needle, switch to double pointed needles when needed. Cast on 88-96 sts on circular needle size 3.5 mm with dark blue Alaska. K 1 round. Then work 4 rounds rib (= K 2/P 2). Switch to circular needle size 4.5 mm and light grey and work diagram M.1 – see explanation above (make sure that 2 K sts are worked over 2 K sts in the rib). REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION! When piece measures 18-20 cm – adjust so that last round is a round with K 2/P 2 - on next round P tog every 3rd and 4th st in diagram M.1 = 66-72 sts. Work 2 rounds with K 2/P 1 pattern (alternately K and P upwards). On next round, K all 2 K sts tog to 1 K st = 44-48 sts. Work 2 rounds with K 1/P 1 pattern. Then K all sts tog 2 by 2 = 22-24 sts. K 1 round, then K all sts tog 2 by 2 again = 11-12 sts remain on needle. Pull the thread through all sts, tighten tog and fasten. The hat measures approx. 22-24 cm vertically. |
