Hi Sharon, You cast off after working 1 row after binding off for the split, then continue every 2nd row. Regards, Drops Team. I'm sorry, I don't understand. If I continue casting off at the split side, how will the button and buttonhole borders at the split meet up? Surely the split needs t continue vertically until it is time to shape the neck? Thank you

Dear Sharon, in the first size you cast off the middle 4 stitches for split when piece measures 26 cm, then continue each side separately, in the first size continue until piece measures 30 cm, then cast off at the beg of every row from neck (from RS on left shoulder / from WS on right shoulder): 7 sts 1 time and 2 sts 1 time. Can this help? Happy knitting!

I am knitting the smallest size and having a problem with the back. The pattern says 3 smallest sizes: When the work measures 26 cm bind off the center 4 sts for split and knit the rest of each part separately. All sizes: Bind off for the neck every other row: 7-8-9 (2-2-2) sts 1 time, 2 sts 1-1-1 (0-0-0) times. Bind off after Pattern 3. Surely I do not decrease for the neck immediately after the split? How long should the split be before the neck binding-off? Thank you

I just went to order all the wool for this lovely pattern but the yellow variety (Muskat 35) does not seem to be available, now I don't know what to do as the ducks do need to be yellow I feel! Any suggestions? Thank you!

I am presently knitting the sleeves on this sweater baby drops 5-20. It seems the sleeves will be very short if I follow the instructions. I'm making a size 2 and the instructions say to knit til piece measures 8and 5/8 inches. Even with the drop shoulder it seems the sleeve will be short. Please advise. Thank you

Dear Ann, it should work, there are no sts bound off for armholes, you will then just have to sew the sleeve onto armhole. Happy knitting!

Repeat along the right side of the split, but after 1 cm make 2 buttonholes distributed as follows: first buttonhole 1 cm from the top and the 2nd buttonhole halfway between the 1st buttonhole and the bottom of the split. (1 buttonhole = bind off 2 sts and cast on 2 new sts over the bound-off sts on the next row.) Bind off. Sew the split together at the bottom. Sew on the sleeves and buttons. |
