Bon tricot!

------------------------------------------------------- EXPLANATIONS FOR THE PATTERN: ------------------------------------------------------- INCREASE TIP: INCREASE 1 STITCH TOWARDS THE LEFT: Use the left needle to pick up the strand between 2 stitches from the previous round, the strand is picked up from the front and the stitch is knitted through the back loop. INCREASE 1 STITCH TOWARDS THE RIGHT: Use the left needle to pick up the strand between 2 stitches from the previous round, the strand is picked up from the back and the stitch is knitted through the front loop. ------------------------------------------------------- START THE PIECE HERE: ------------------------------------------------------- WRIST-WARMERS – SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE: The piece is worked from the cuff upwards. Flip-tops are worked to finish. RIGHT WRIST-WARMER: The piece is worked in the round. Cast on 56-60 stitches with double pointed needles size 3 mm and DROPS Merino Extra Fine. Work rib (knit 2, purl 2) for 5-5 cm. Change to double pointed needles size 3.5 mm. Work stocking stitch, AT THE SAME TIME decrease 14-14 stitches evenly on the first round = 42-46 stitches. Insert 1 marker in the 11th-13th stitch. Allow the marker to follow this stitch onwards. Remember to maintain the knitting tension. When the piece measures 13-13 cm, INCREASE 1 STITCH TOWARDS THE LEFT, after the marker-stitch – read INCREASE TIP in explanations above. Increase 1 stitch like this after the marker-stitch every 2nd round a total of 8-10 times = 50-56 stitches. Work until the piece measures 18-20 cm. Place the first 11-13 stitches (including the marker-stitch) on a stitch holder for the thumb without working them, then cast on 3 stitches and knit to end of round = 42-46 stitches. On the next round, knit 21-23 (under-side of wrist-warmer), purl 21-23 (top of wrist-warmer. The flip top is knitted up in these purled stitches later). Continue with stocking stitch across all stitches until the piece measures 22-24 cm. Change to double pointed needles size 3 mm. Work rib (knit 2, purl 2), AT THE SAME TIME increase 2-2 stitches evenly on the first round = 44-48 stitches. Work rib for 1 cm. Cast off slightly loosely with rib. The piece measures approx. 5-5 cm from the cast-on stitches behind the thumb, 23-25 cm in total. THUMB: Place the 11-13 stitches from the stitch holder back on the double pointed needles size 3.5 mm and knit up 1 stitch in each of the 3 cast-on stitches = 14-16 stitches. Work stocking stitch in the round for 2-3 cm. Change to double pointed needles size 3 mm. Work rib (knit 2, purl 2), AT THE SAME TIME increase 2-0 stitches evenly on the first round = 16-16 stitches. Work rib for 1 cm. Cast off slightly loosely with rib. The thumb measures approx. 3-4 cm. LEFT WRIST-WARMER: The piece is worked in the round. When the piece measures 13-13 cm, INCREASE 1 STITCH TOWARDS THE RIGHT before the marker-stitch – read INCREASE TIP in explanations above. Increase 1 stitch like this before the marker-stitch every 2nd round a total of 8-10 times = 50-56 stitches. Work until the piece measures 18-20 cm. Work to the marker-stitch, place the next 11-13 stitches (including the marker-stitch) on a stitch holder for the thumb without working them, cast on 3 stitches and knit to end of round = 42-46 stitches. 5-5 cm fra from the cast-on stitches behind the thumb, 23-25 cm in total. FLIP TOP: Use double pointed needles size 3 mm. Lay the wrist-warmer with the top upper-most and the cast-on edge towards you. Knit up 1 stitch in each of the 21-23 purled stitches, then cast on 23-25 stitches = 44-48 stitches. Work rib in the round as follows: Knit 1, * purl 2, knit 2 *, work from *-* until there are 3 stitches left, purl 2 and knit 1. Work until the flip top measures 9-10 cm; 2 cm left to finished length. Knit 1, purl 2, * knit 2 together, purl 2 *, work from *-*until there is 1 stitch left, knit this last stitch together with the first stitch = 33-36 stitches. * Purl 2, knit 1 *, work from *-* to end of round. * Purl 2 together, knit 1 *, work from *-* to end of round = 22-24 stitches. * Purl 1, knit 1 *, work from *-* to end of round. On the next round knit all stitches together 2 and 2 = 11-12 stitches. The flip top measures approx. 11-12 cm. Cut the strand, leaving a strand-end of 60 cm, thread it through the remaining stitches, tighten and fasten with a knot on the wrong side, then thread the strand through to the right side. Do not cut the strand, it is used for the loop. LOOP: Use crochet hook size 3 mm. Insert the hook through the knitted stitch where the strand-end emerges on the right side. Use the strand-end and make 1 yarn over, pull the strand through the stitch = 1 chain stitch, continue working chain stitches until the row fits the size of the button. Work 1 slip stitch, fastening the chain-stitch row where it started. Cut and fasten the strand. Sew 1 button to the underside of the wrist-warmer so the loop can be fastened to it. |
