Gutes Gelingen!

I understand that pattern relates to M1 or M2, but there is no pattern 3 for the sleeves, that I can find. Where can I find the color order for the sleeves? Thank you.
06.04.2021 - 16:53DROPS Design answered:
Dear Dawn, you can find the diafram for pattern M.3 (and thus the order of colors for the sleeves) at the bottom of the pattern, between the explanation of the symbols and the schematic drawing, on the last side (the narrower comumn of 4 stitches). Happy Knitting!

Your instructions refer to "pattern 1" and "pattern 3," but your color charts don't have such labels, and there are no "patterns." I'm confused. Please advise ASAP.

Dear Mrs Crane, M.1 is the longer diagram on the right side - starting from very bottom (ie including the rows in M.2) to the top. Happy knitting!

Your instructions say "pattern 1" and "pattern 3." However only 2 color charts are included, and neither one says "pattern 1" or "pattern 3." Neither chart is labeled except to say "m2" and "m3." Please explain. Thank you.

Dear Mrs Carne, the patterns are the diagram at the bottom of the page, pattern is here the English for "Mønster" in Norwegian. M.1 is the longer one (beg with a repeat of M.2). Happy knitting!

Gauge: 23 sts and 30 rows on larger needles in pattern = 10 x 10 cm . Border: Knit 6 rows stockinette st, purl 1 row (for folding edge. Measure the work from here), Pattern 2. Pattern: See chart. (1 chart = 1 repeat). The pattern is seen from the right side and is knit entirely in stockinette st. Body: Cardigan is knit in the round with steeks after the border for armholes and at the center front. Cast on 240 (264-288) sts on smaller circular needles with marine and knit border back and forth on the needles. Change to larger circular needles and cast on 5 sts at the center front (for the center front steek -- not knit into the pattern). Join and knit Pattern 1. When the work measures 33 (35-38) cm , knit the next row as follows: 60 (66-72) sts for the front, cast on 5 sts for underarm steek, 120 (132-144) sts for the back, cast on 5 sts for underarm steek, 60 (66-72) sts for the front (the steek sts are not knit into the pattern). When the work measures 48 (51-54) cm , bind off the center front 14 (16-16) sts (+ 5 steek sts) for the neck and knit the rest of the work back and forth on the needles. Bind off at each neck edge every other row: 3 sts 1 time, 2 sts 2 times, 1 st 2 times. When the work measures 54 (57-60) cm , bind off the center back 28 (30-30) sts for the neck. Dec 1 st at each back neck edge every row 2 times. Bind off when the work measures 56 (59-62) cm . Sleeves: Cast on 52 (56-58) sts on smaller double pointed needles with marine. Join, being careful not to twist the sts. Place a marker at the join and knit border. Change to larger double pointed needles and Pattern 3. When the work measures 5 cm , inc 1 st on each side of the marker 27 (27-26) times every 4th row. 106 (110-110) sts. When the work measures 46 (45-43) cm , put 5 sts on each side of the marker on a stitch holder. Then put sts on the stitch holder for sleeve caps on each side every other row: 5 sts 5 times. The work measures approximately 49 (48-46) cm . Put all sts on the stitch holder back on circular needles and knit 2 cm in reverse stockinette st for a seam allowance over the cut edge on the body. Bind off. Assembly: Sew a marker thread down into the center of the steek sts on each side and at the center of the front. Sew two machine seams around the marker thread, 1st seam = 1/2 st from the marker thread, other seam = 1/2 st from first seam. Cut up. Sew shoulder seams. Pick up approximately 110 sts along the left front with marine on smaller circular needles and knit 3 cm in stockinette st, purl 1 row, knit 3 cm in stockinette st. Bind off. Repeat along the right front, but after 1 cm make 6 buttonholes evenly distributed on the row. (1 buttonhole = bind off 2 sts and cast on 2 new sts over the bound-off sts on the next row.) Make corresponding buttonholes on the folding edge. Fold all edges over against the wrong side and sew. Pick up approximately 120-130 sts (divisible by 4 sts) around the neck and over the button band on smaller circular needles with marine. Knit border back and forth on the needles. Bind off and fold the edge over against the wrong side and sew. Sew the sleeves to the body from the right side as follows: Sew alternately a stitch in the last row of knitting on the sleeve before the seam allowance and a stitch on the body after the machine seam. Turn the sweater inside out and sew the seam allowance from the sleeve over the cutting edge on the body by hand. Sew on the buttons. |
