Hej!

In the captain jack had with skulls the pattern says to go from a stocking stich to the garder stich but leaves out the knitted riws between the stocking and garder stich.

Dear Melanie, when the hat measures 4-5 cm (see size), work 2 rounds in garter st (= 1 ridge in black), then 1 ridge in grey and 1 ridge in black, then work diagram A.1. Happy knitting!

Rd. Also: 1. Rd: 7 Abnahmen. 2 Rd: keine Abnahmen. 3. Rd: 7 Abnahmen. 4. Rd: keine Abnahmen. 5. Rd: 7 Abnahmen. 6.

GARTER ST (back and forth on needle): K all rows. 1 ridge = 2 rows K. GARTER ST (in the round on circular needle/double pointed needles): * K 1 round and P 1 round *, repeat from *-*. PATTERN: See diagram A-1 - diagram is worked in stocking st. ------------------------------------------------------- HAT: Worked in the round on circular needle and then on double pointed needles. Cast on 104-120 sts on circular needle size 3 mm with grey. Work rib = K 2/P 2 for 3 cm. Switch to circular needle size 3.5 mm and continue in stocking st – AT THE SAME TIME on 1st round dec 6-8 sts evenly = 98-112 sts. REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION! When piece measures 4-5 cm, work 2 rounds in GARTER ST - see explanation above - in black, 2 rounds in garter st in grey and 2 rounds in garter st in black. Then work diagram A-1 (= 7-8 repetitions in the round). After A-1, work 2 rounds in garter st in black, 2 rounds in garter st in grey and 2 rounds in garter st in black again. Continue in stocking st and grey until finished measurements. When piece measures 14-16 cm, insert 7 markers in the piece, 14-16 sts apart. On next round, dec 1 st after every marker by K 2 tog. Repeat dec every other round 4-6 more times and then every round 7-7 times = 14-14 sts remain on needle. Cut the thread and pull it through the remaining sts and tighten tog. The hat measures approx. 19-22 cm vertically. ------------------------------------------------------- NECK WARMER: Beg at the bottom of front piece and cast off at the bottom of back piece, then lastly work the neck warmer itself. FRONT PIECE: Cast on 46-50-54 sts on needle size 3.5 mm with Lima and work 4 rows in garter st. Continue in stocking st with 3 sts in garter st in each side. REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION! When piece measures 8-9-10 cm, cast off the middle 16-18-20 sts for neck. Now work each shoulder separately. Continue in stocking st with 3 sts in garter st towards the side - at the same time cast off on every row from neck: 3 sts 1 time, 2 sts 1 time and 1 st 3 times = 7-8-9 sts remain on needle. When piece measures 13-14-16 cm in total, insert a marker (= mid on top of shoulder) - now measures piece from here. On next row cast on 2 new sts towards the neck, then slip sts on a stitch holder. Work the other shoulder the same way but work 1 additional row after the 2 sts have been cast on towards the neck to finish on RS or WS on both shoulders. BACK PIECE: Work sts from one shoulder back on needle, cast on 28-30-32 sts and work sts from the other shoulder on to needle = 46-50-54 sts. Continue in stocking st with 3 sts in garter st in each side. When piece measures 12-13-15 cm from marker on shoulder work 4 rows in garter st. Cast off. NECK: Knit up approx. 76 to 90 sts around the neck on double pointed needles size 3 mm. P 1 round, then K 1 round while at the same time inc evenly to 88-96-104 sts. Continue with rib = K 2/P 2. When neck measures approx. 8-9-10 cm, cast off with K over K and P over P. |
