Knitting tension: 17 sts x 22 rows in stocking sts = 10 x 10 cm Garter sts: Knit back and forth on all rows. Button hole: Cast off for button hole at the right front band. 1 button hole = cast off the 5 st from the edge. On the returning row cast on 1 new sts at the same place. Cast off for button holes when the piece measures: Size S: 5, 18 and 31 cm. Size M: 5, 14, 23 and 32 cm. Size L: 5, 14, 24 and 33 cm. Size XL: 5, 15, 24 and 34 cm. Size XXL: 5, 12, 20, 27 and 35 cm. Size XXXL: 5, 13, 21, 29 and 36 cm. Back piece: Cast on 82-88-94-106-112-124 sts (incl 1 edge st each side) on needles size 4.5 mm with Silke-Alpaca. P 1 row from the WS. Continue to knit the next row from the RS as follows: 1 edge st, * K2 , P4 *, repeat from *-* and finish with K2 and 1 edge st. Continue the Rib until the piece measures 3 cm. Then knit 2 rows of garter sts - see explanation above –at the same time on the 1st row dec. 4-4-4-7-3-5 sts evenly distributed = 78-84-90-99-109-119 sts. Remember the knitting tension! Continue in stocking sts. At the same time when the piece measures 8-8-9-9-10-10 cm cast off 1 st each side on every 5 cm a total of 3 times = 72-78-84-93-103-113 sts. When the piece measures 26-27-28-29-30-31 cm inc. 1 st each side on every 5 cm a total of 3 times = 78-84-90-99-109-119 sts. When the piece measures 41-42-43-44-45-46 cm cast off 3 sts each side for the armholes. Continue to cast off for the armholes on every other row as follows: 3 sts 0-0-0-1-1-1 time, 2 sts 1-2-3-3-4-6 times and 1 st 2-3-3-4-6-6 times = 64-64-66-67-69-71 sts. When the piece measures 58-60-62-64-66-68 cm cast off the mid 24-24-24-25-25-25 sts for the neck. On the next row cast off 1 more sts towards the neck = 19-19-20-20-21-22 sts left for each shoulder. Cast off when the piece measures 60-62-64-66-68-70 cm. Left front piece: Cast on 47-53-53-59-65-71 sts (incl. 1 edge st each side) on needle size 4.5 mm with Silke-Alpaca. Knit the outer most 2 sts each side with double thread to keep the front band firm. P 1 row from the WS. Knit the next row as follows: 1 edge st, * P4, K2*, repeat from *-* and finish with 10 front band sts knitted in garter sts through out – see explanation above. Continue the Rib until it measures 3 cm. Then knit 2 rows of garter sts, at the same time dec 2-5-2-4-5-6 sts evenly distributed = 45-48-51-55-60-65 sts (do not dec. In the front band sts). Continue in stocking sts with 10 front band sts at the mid front knitted in garter sts. At the same time when the piece measures 8-8-9-9-10-10 cm cast off at the side as done for the back piece = 42-45-48-52-57-62 sts. Please read all of the next section before knitting it! When the piece measures 26-27-28-29-30-31 cm inc. 1 st at the side as done for the back piece. At the same time when the piece measures 32-33-34-35-36-37 cm inc. inside the 2 outer most sts for the collar as follows: 1 st each side on every 1½ cm a total of 15-15-17-18-18-18 times. Incorporate and knit new sts in garter sts going along. At the same time when the piece measures 34-35-36-37-38-39 cm knit 1 extra sts into the front band towards the side (i.e the number of sts remain the same, but the number of front band sts inc. and the number of stocking sts dec.) on every 2½. cm a total off 9 times. At the same time when the piece measures 41-42-43-44-45-46 cm cast off for armholes as done for the back piece. When all inc/dec are completed = 53-53-56-57-58-59 sts left (front band = 34-34-36-37-37-37 sts). When the piece measures 60-62-64-66-68-70 cm cast off the outer most 19-19-20-20-21-22 sts for the shoulder = 34-34-36-37-37-37 sts left for the collar. Insert 1 MT (marking thread). Continue with garter sts over the collar as follows: * 2 rows of garter sts over all sts, 2 rows of garter sts over the outermost mid front 16 sts *, repeat from *-* until the piece measures approx. 7½-7½-7½-8-8-8 cm from the MT at the shortest side. Cast off loosely. Right front piece: Knit as left front piece but reverse. Remember to cast off for the button holes – see explanation above. Sleeve: Cast on 50-50-56-56-62-62 sts (incl. 1 edge st each side) on needle size 4.5 mm with Silke-Alpaca. P 1 row from the WS. Continue with Rib K2/ P4 and 1 edge st each side until the piece measures 6-6-6-7-7-8 cm. Then knit 2 rows of garter sts at the same time dec 9-7-11-10-14-12 sts evenly distributed = 41-43-45-46-48-50 sts. Then continue with stocking sts until finish. At the same time when the piece measures 8-8-8-8-8-9 cm inc. 1 st each side on every 4½-4-3½-3-2½ -2 cm a total of 9-10-11-13-14-16 times = 59-63-67-72-76-82 sts. When the piece measures 47-47-47-46-45-43 cm cast off 3 sts each side for the sleeve cap – shorter measures for bigger sizes because of the longer sleeve cap. Then cast off every other row as follows: 2 sts 3 times and 1 st 2-3-4-5-6-8 times. Continue to cast off 2 sts each side until the piece measures 54-55-56-57-57-57 cm. Then cast off 3 sts each side 1 time. Cast off remaining sts when the piece measures 55-56-57-58-58-58 cm. Assembly: Sew the shoulder seams inside 1 edge st. Sew the collar tog. mid back and sew it to the back and front pieces. Sew the buttons on. Bow: Cast on 10 sts on needle size 2.5 mm with Cotton Viscose. Knit in garter sts until the piece measures 6 cm. Cast off. Sew a couple of sts in the middle of the bow. Pull the thread tight so it pulls tog. like a bow. Knit a total of 3-4-4-4-5-5 bows. Sew the decorative bows on at the side of the button holes with small sts just before the button holes. |
