Na vele pogingen neig ik het op te geven dit te breien... zo jammer! Ik worstel met de wol en met de steek... is er een mogelijkheid om een ander patroon te breien of de wol te ruilen ?

Hello, can this pattern be knitted in the round?
24.11.2019 - 01:08DROPS Design answered:
Dear Christina, you an knit the body in the round up to the point where you decrease for the armoles, from there you have to split the stitches and knit each piece back and forth. The sleeves canbe knitted on the round until you start to shape the top of the sleeves. I hope this helps. Happy Knitting!

------------------------------------------------------- EXPLANATIONS FOR THE PATTERN: ------------------------------------------------------- RIDGE/GARTER STITCH (worked back and forth): Knit all rows. 1 ridge in height = Knit 2 rows. STRIPES BODY: 14-14-15-15-16-16 cm with light beige. 14-14-15-15-16-16 cm with heather. 14-14-15-15-16-16 cm with off white. Then work with powder pink to finished length = approx. 12-14-13-15-14-16 cm. STRIPES SLEEVE: 5-5-4-3-2-2 cm with powder pink. 14-14-15-15-16-16 cm with off white. 14-14-15-15-16-16 cm with heather. Then work with light beige to finished length = approx. 17-16-15-13-10-8 cm. DECREASE TIP (for sleeves): All decreases are worked from the right side! Decrease 2 stitches at the beginning of the row as follows: 1 edge stitch in garter stitch, knit 3 stitches together (+ 2 yarn overs which belong to the stitches) (= 2 stitches decreased). Decrease 2 stitches at the end of the row as follows: Work until there are 4 stitches left on row, slip next stitch + yarn over as if to knit, then place them twisted back on the left needle, knit the next 3 stitches twisted together (+ the 2 yarn overs) (= 2 stitches decreased), work 1 edge stitch in garter stitch. ------------------------------------------------------- START THE PIECE HERE: ------------------------------------------------------- JUMPER - SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE: The piece is worked back and forth with circular needle and sewn together to finish. The sleeves are worked back and forth with circular needle, top down. BACK PIECE: Cast on 79-88-94-106-118-130 stitches (including 1 edge stitch on each side) with circular needle size 6 mm and light beige. Work STRIPES BODY – read description above and English rib as follows: ROW 1 (right side): 1 edge stitch in GARTER STITCH – read description above, * knit 2 together, 1 yarn over, slip 1 stitch as if to purl *, work from *-* until there are 3 stitches left and finish with knit 2 together and 1 edge stitch in garter stitch. You have now decreased 26-29-31-35-39-43 stitches on the row = 53-59-63-71-79-87 stitches (+ 25-28-30-34-38-42 yarn overs). ROW 2 (wrong side): 1 edge stitch in garter stitch, * 1 yarn over, slip 1 stitch as if to purl, knit together next stitch and yarn over *, work from *-* until there are 2 stitches left on row and finish with 1 yarn over, slip 1 stitch as if to purl and 1 edge stitch in garter stitch. ROW 3 (right side): 1 edge stitch in garter stitch, * knit together the next stitch and yarn over, 1 yarn over, slip 1 stitch as if to purl *, work from *-* until there are 2 stitches left on row, knit together the next stitch and yarn over, 1 edge stitch in garter stitch. Repeat rows 2 and 3 onwards. REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION! When the piece measures approx. 37-38-39-40-41-42 cm – adjust so that the next row is worked from the right side, cast on 1 new stitch at the end of the next 2 rows for armholes = 55-61-65-73-81-89 stitches. Continue with English rib as before and work 2 stitches in garter stitch on each side. When the piece measures approx. 51-53-55-57-59-61 cm – adjust so that the next row is worked from the right side, work as follows: Work pattern as before over the first 18-20-22-26-28-32 stitches and place them on a thread for shoulder, cast off the next 19-21-21-21-25-25 stitches, but to avoid the cast-off edge being tight, cast off the yarn overs as separate stitches, then work the remaining 18-20-22-26-28-32 stitches as before. Now finish each shoulder separately. Continue back and forth with English rib, 2 stitches in garter stitch towards the armhole and 1 stitch in garter stitch towards the neck until the piece measures 17-18-19-20-21-22 cm from where the one stitch was cast on for armhole. Cast off, but to avoid the cast-off edge being tight, cast off the yarn overs as separate stitches. The piece measures approx. 54-56-58-60-62-64 cm from the shoulder down. Work the other shoulder in the same way. FRONT PIECE: Cast on and work stripes and pattern in the same way as the back piece. When the piece measures 37-38-39-40-41-42 cm – adjust so that the next row is worked from the right side, cast on 1 new stitch at the end of the next 2 rows for the armholes = 55-61-65-73-81-89 stitches. Continue with English rib as before but now work 2 edge stitches in garter stitch on each side. When the piece measures 47-49-50-52-53-55 cm – adjust so that the next row is worked from the right side, work as follows: Work pattern as before over the first 18-20-22-26-28-32 stitches and then place them on a thread for the shoulder, cast off the next 19-21-21-21-25-25 stitches, but to avoid the cast-off edge being tight, cast off the yarn overs as separate stitches, then work the remaining 18-20-22-26-28-32 stitches on the row as before. Now finish each shoulder separately. Continue back and forth with English rib, 2 stitches in garter stitch towards the armhole and 1 stitch in garter stitch towards the neck until the piece measures 17-18-19-20-21-22 cm from where you cast on the stitch for the armhole. Cast off, but to avoid the cast-off edge being tight, cast off the yarn overs as separate stitches. The piece measures approx. 54-56-58-60-62-64 cm from the shoulder down. Work the other shoulder in the same way. SLEEVE: Cast on 67-73-76-79-85-88 stitches (including 1 edge stitch in garter stitch on each side) with circular needle size 6 mm and powder pink. Work STRIPES SLEEVE – read description above and English rib as follows: ROW 1 (right side): 1 edge stitch in GARTER STITCH – read description above, * knit 2 together, 1 yarn over, slip 1 stitch as if to purl *, work from *-* until there are 3 stitches left and finish with knit 2 together and 1 edge stitch in garter stitch. You have now decreased 22-24-25-26-28-29 stitches on the row = 45-49-51-53-57-59 stitches (+21-23-24-25-27-28 yarn overs). When the piece measures 4 cm decrease 2 stitches on each side of the piece – read DECREASE TIP. Decrease like this every 19-19-19-17-10-10 cm a total of 2-2-2-2-3-3 times = 37-41-43-45-45-47 stitches. Continue working until the sleeve measures 50-49-49-46-44-42 cm (shorter measurements in larger sizes due to wider shoulders). Cast off, but to avoid the cast-off edge being tight, cast off the yarn overs as separate stitches. Work the other sleeve in the same way. ASSEMBLY: Sew shoulder seams in each and every stitch. Make sure the seam is not tight. Sew sleeves to body inside the 1 edge stitch in garter stitch on body and the cast-off edge on sleeves. Sew sleeve and side seams in one go – sew inside the 1 edge stitch in garter stitch on each side. |
