My boyfriend's chest circumference in 44". However, I cannot get gauge and am about 15 to 16 stitches per 4" instead. Would it be appropriate to just knit the mens S/M assuming the sweater will come out oversized due to the gauge?

Hi Meghan, It would be better to decrease the size of your needles to get the correct guage, then work the size suggested (it will be more exact). Happy knitting!

Hi again, I’m working on the front piece of the L male size - do I decrease 2 stitches at each end of the row X2 and then 1 stitch at each end X2 (all alternating)? I’m sure I’m making this harder for myself but I’ve spent the whole day trying to work it out and I’m not sure how to proceed. Help is much appreciated!
12.02.2021 - 19:18DROPS Design answered:
Dear Mary, you will cast off on each side: 2 stitches 2 times (= 2 stitches at the beginning of next 4 rows) + 1 stitch 2 times (= 1 stitch at the beginning of next 4 rows) = 6 stitches have been cast off on each side and 12 in total, so that you have: 116-12= 104 sts left. Happy knitting!

I’ve just reached 46cm and am shaping the armholes but I’m struggling with casting off 2 stitches at the end of the round when the stitches at the beginning are already cast off. Do I cut the yarn or am I missing something? Any help would be great!
11.02.2021 - 22:30DROPS Design answered:
Dear Mary, correct, after you have bound off the 2 sts at the end of the last round, cut the yarn. There are now 4 sts cast off for each armhole - and you continue each piece separately, back and forth on needle. Happy knitting!

Mvh DROPS Design

Does this pattern come with directions to knit it flat, not on circulars? I\'m not sure that I can manage all that at once.

Dear PatsyCarol, you will find here how to adapt a pattern into straight needles. Happy knitting!

Hoi Siny. Je begint met in de rondte breien (dus over zowel voor als achterpand: 240 st), Je kant af voor de armsgaten zoals beschreven en breit dan de panden apart verder. Je hebt dan 116 st voor elk pand.
