Hi Sukhjinder Kaur, it means that after casting on 9-9-9-9-9-10 stitches under sleeve, you should work diagram A.2 from 5-2-2-11-12-6th stitch. happy knitting!

Hi I didn’t understand the division of body and sleeves there are total 308 stitches for XXL size if 64 + 64 are for sleeves then 180 for body if 9 stitches under the sleeves are included in in body then 198 is ok but they are again included in sleeves how will this be done please explain I am struck here . Thanks
10.09.2022 - 14:56DROPS Design answered:
Dear Mrs Kaur, work the dividing round as follows: work A.3 3 times (= 14 sts x 3 = 42 sts) then work the first 3 sts in A.2 (= 42+3=45 sts for 1/2 back piece), slip the next 64 sts on a thread for sleeve and cast on 9 new sts, work the last 3 sts A.2 then repeat A.2 a total of 6 times (= 6x14=84 sts) and work the first 3 sts A.2 (= 3+84+3=90 sts for front piece), slip the next 64 sts on a thread for sleeve and cast on 9 new sts, and work the last 3 sts in A.2 + repeat A.2 3 times (= 3x14=42 sts) (= 3+42=45 sts for half back piece; you have now a total of 198 sts on body (45 sts for each front and back piece + 9 sts cast on under both sleeves). Happy knitting!

Hi I didn’t understand this whole paragraph what they are dividing sleeves and body please explain it in detail. Work A.2 2-2-2-3-3-3 times in total, work the first 8-11-12-3-3-9 stitches in A.2, slip the next 44-50-54-59-64-66 stitches on a thread for sleeve, cast on 9-9-9-9-9-10 ……………….till 3 times in total. Thanks Sukhjinder
08.09.2022 - 11:21DROPS Design answered:
Dear Sukhjinder, work 2 or 3 whole repeats of A.2 on the round, then work first 8--9 stitches from a repeat of A.2, slip the next.... stitches on a thread for the sleeve. Then cast on 9...10 stitches under the sleeve and work the next stitches as if they were the last 8-11-12-3-3-9 stitches of a repeat of A.2. Work 4-6 whole repeats of A.2, work first 8--9 stitches from a repeat of A.2, slip the next stitches to a thread for the second sleeve. Cast on stitches for the second sleeve and work the next stitches as if they were the last 8-11-12-3-3-9 stitches of a repeat of A.2, then work 2 or 3 whole repeats of A.2 on the round. Happy knitting!

Dear Mrs nSukhjinder, work the black square just as we show in the video below - (in the video we work 1 stitch, while you will work the yarn over from previous round, this will be the only difference). Happy knitting!

Why doesn’t my stitch number work out on row 17 ? I have more st than it gives on chart
28.05.2022 - 12:56DROPS Design answered:
Dear Mrs Tarrant, make sure that there are the correct number of yarn oversr in each repeat, the black ovals are increases, while the white ones are just for the lace pattern. You can insert a marker after each repeat, this can help to follow each row and the number of stitches. Hope it can help. Happy knitting!

---------------------------------------------------------- EXPLANATION FOR THE PATTERN: ---------------------------------------------------------- GARTER STITCH (worked in the round): 1 ridge vertically = 2 rounds, i.e. knit 1 round and purl 1 round. PATTERN: See diagrams A.1 and A.2. Choose diagram for your size. DECREASE TIP (applies to mid under sleeves): Decrease 1 stitch on each side of stitch with marker as follows: Work until 2 stitches remain before stitch with marker, knit 2 together, work stitch with marker, slip 1 stitch knitwise, knit 1, pass slipped stitch over stitch worked. ---------------------------------------------------------- START THE PIECE HERE: ---------------------------------------------------------- JUMPER - SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE: Work neck edge and yoke in the round on circular needle from mid back, top down. Now divide yoke for body and sleeves. Work the body in the round on circular needle. Work sleeves in the round on double pointed needles/a short circular needle. NECK EDGE: Cast on 90-93-96-102-105-108 stitches on short circular needle size 4 mm with DROPS Air. Knit 1 round. Then work rib = knit 1 twisted/ purl 2. When rib measures 4 cm, work 1 ridge in GARTER STITCH - see explanation above. Knit 1 round and increase 0-7-4-8-5-12 stitches evenly = 90-100-100-110-110-120 stitches. Switch to circular needle size 5.5 mm. Insert 1 marker at beginning of round (mid back), measure yoke from this marker! YOKE: Now work A.1 9-10-10-11-11-12 times in total in width. REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION! There should be approx. 3½-3½-4½-4½-5½-5½ cm between lace patterns vertically, if the knitting tension is not correct vertically, adjust by working more or less rounds in stocking stitch between each lace pattern vertically. When A.1 has been worked 1 time vertically, there are 216-240-260-286-308-336 stitches on needle. Piece now measures 17-17-19-19-21-21 cm from marker. Now work A.2 18-20-20-22-22-24 times in total in width. Continue pattern like this. There should be approx. 3½-3½-4½-4½-5½-5½ cm between lace patterns vertically, if the knitting tension is not correct vertically, adjust by working more or less rounds in stocking stitch between each lace pattern vertically. AT THE SAME TIME when piece measures 20-22-23-25-27-29 cm from marker, divide piece for body and sleeves as follows: Continue A.2 as before but work only lace pattern over stitches if the entire lace pattern fits in width, work the remaining stitches in stocking stitch. Work A.2 2-2-2-3-3-3 times in total, work the first 8-11-12-3-3-9 stitches in A.2, slip the next 44-50-54-59-64-66 stitches on a thread for sleeve, cast on 9-9-9-9-9-10 stitches under sleeve, skip the first 4-1-1-10-11-5 stitches in A.2 and work the last 8-11-12-3-3-9 stitches in A.2, work A.2 4-4-4-6-6-6 times in total, work the first 8-11-12-3-3-9 stitches in A.2, slip the next 44-50-54-59-64-66 stitches on a thread for sleeve, cast on 9-9-9-9-9-10 stitches under sleeve, skip the first 4-1-1-10-11-5 stitches in A.2 and work the last 8-11-12-3-3-9 stitches in A.2, and work A.2 2-2-2-3-3-3 times in total. BODY: = 146-158-170-186-198-224 stitches. Work next round as follows: Work A.2 3-3-3-3-3-4 times in total, 1-7-7-15-15-0 stitches in stocking stitch, A.2 6-6-6-6-6-8 times in total, 1-7-7-15-15-0 stitches in stocking stitch, A.2 3-3-3-3-4 times in total. Continue pattern like this. When piece measures 21-21-22-22-22-22 cm from division, switch to circular needle size 4 mm. Work 1 ridge. Knit 1 round and increase 28-31-34-36-39-43 stitches evenly = 174-189-204-222-237-267 stitches. Then work rib = knit 1 twisted/ purl 2. Cast off by knitting when rib measures 4 cm. Piece measures approx. 50-52-54-56-58-60 cm, measured from shoulder and down. SLEEVES: Slip the 44-50-54-59-64-66 stitches from stitch holder in one side of piece on double pointed needles/a short circular needle size 5.5 mm and pick in addition up 1 stitch in each of the 9-9-9-9-9-10 new stitches cast on under sleeve = 53-59-63-68-73-76 stitches. Continue in the round with A.2 as before. I.e. work A.2 3-4-4-5-5-4 times in total over the middle stitches and 17-11-11-3-3-20 stitches in stocking stitch under sleeve. Insert 1 marker in the 5th stitch of the 9-9-9-9-9-10 stitches under sleeve. Decrease on each side of this stitch later. Continue A.2 as before but work only lace pattern over stitches if the entire lace pattern fits in width, work the remaining stitches in stocking stitch. When sleeve measures 3 cm from division, decrease 1 stitch on each side of stitch with marker - read DECREASE TIP! Decrease like this every 6-3½-3-2-1½-1½ cm 4-6-7-9-11-12 times in total = 45-47-49-50-51-52 stitches. When sleeve measures 29-28-27-26-24-22 cm from division, switch to double pointed needles size 4 mm. Knit 1 round and increase 9-10-11-10-9-11 stitches evenly = 54-57-60-60-60-63 stitches. Work 1 ridge. Then work rib = knit 1 twisted/ purl 2. Cast off by knitting when rib measures 7 cm. Sleeve measures 36-35-34-33-31-29 cm in total from division. Work the other sleeve the same way. |
