I str.

09.08.2023 - 14:43DROPS Design answered:
Hej Eva, A2 skal stemme over A.1 og förskjutningen sker ifølge idagrammet från rad 5 :)

Dear Sharon, you can use either, A.1 is fine. Happy knitting!

Your comment was not responsive to my question. I know how to read the pattern, but it is extremely small, and I find all patterns hard to follow. I can translate it into written instructions myself, I was just hoping someone had gotten there before me.

Has anyone transcribed A.2 pattern into writing instead of the chart?
18.04.2022 - 04:18DROPS Design answered:
Dear Judith, all of our patterns are in a mixed format, with some parts explained in writing and others in charts. If you need help understanding the charts, you can check our lesson on reading knitting charts here: https://www.garnstudio.com/lesson.php?id=68&cid=19. Happy knitting!

14.03.2021 - 23:19DROPS Design answered:
Hej Abadah, den næstsidste maske skal være sidste maske i A.1 og sidste er kantmasken i retstrik. God fornøjelse!

------------------------------------------------------- EXPLANATIONS FOR THE PATTERN: ------------------------------------------------------- RIDGE/GARTER STITCH (worked back and forth): Knit all rows. 1 ridge in height = Knit 2 rows. PATTERN: See diagrams A.1 and A.2. The diagrams show all rows in the pattern from the right side. INCREASE TIP (evenly spaced): All increases worked from the right side! Increase 1 stitch inside the 4 stitches on each side by making 1 yarn over. On the next row work the yarn overs twisted to avoid holes. The new stitches are worked into pattern A.1. CASTING-OFF TIP: To avoid the cast-off edge being tight you can cast off with a larger size needle. If the edge is still tight, make 1 yarn over after approx. each 4th stitch at the same time as casting off; the yarn overs are cast off as normal stitches. ------------------------------------------------------- START THE PIECE HERE: ------------------------------------------------------- VEST – SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE: The piece is worked back and forth in sections, top down. The neck is worked to finish. FRONT PIECE: Left shoulder: Cast on 23-23-26-26-26-26 stitches with circular needle size 4.5 mm and Lima. Purl 1 row from the wrong side. Then work as follows from the right side: 1 stitch in GARTER STITCH – read description above, A.1 (= 3 stitches) over the next 18-18-21-21-21-21 stitches, work the first 2 stitches in A.1, 2 stitches in garter stitch (= towards the armhole) Continue this pattern for 4 cm – adjust so the last row is worked from the wrong side. Cut the strand and lay the piece to one side. Right shoulder: Cast on 23-23-26-26-26-26 stitches with circular needle size 4.5 mm and Lima. Purl 1 row from the wrong side. Then work as follows from the right side: 2 stitches in garter stitch (= towards the armhole), A.1 over the next 18-18-21-21-21-21 stitches, work the first 2 stitches in A.1, 1 stitch in garter stitch. Continue this pattern for 4 cm – adjust so the next row is from the right side, and work as follows: Work the 23-23-26-26-26-26 stitches on the right shoulder as before, cast on 32-38-38-38-44-44 new stitches for the neck and work the 23-23-26-26-26-26 stitches on the left shoulder as before = 78-84-90-90-96-96 stitches on the needle. Work 1 row from the wrong side, purling the new stitches on the neck and working the other stitches as before. REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION! Now work pattern as before over the first 10-13-16-16-19-19 stitches, A.2 over the next 58 stitches and pattern as before over the last 10-13-16-16-19-19 stitches. Continue this pattern back and forth. When A.2 has been worked 2 times in height, continue with A.1 over all stitches (and garter stitch on both sides). AT THE SAME TIME when the piece measures 22-20-21-18-15-11 cm, increase for the armholes on both sides - read INCREASE TIP. Increase like this every 2nd row a total of 3-6-6-12-18-24 times = 84-96-102-114-132-144 stitches. The new stitches are worked into A.1. At the end of the next 2 rows cast on 5 new stitches for the armholes = 94-106-112-124-142-154 stitches. Then work A.1 as before with 7 stitches on each side in garter stitch. Continue working until the piece measures 44-45-46-47-48-49 cm from the bottom of the armholes (= approx. 68-70-72-74-76-78 cm from the shoulder down). On the next row from the right side, work as follows: 7 stitches in garter stitch, * knit 2, 1 stitch in garter stitch, 1 yarn over *, work from *-* until there are 9 stitches left, knit 2 and 7 stitches in garter stitch = 120-136-144-160-184-200 stitches (all the garter stitches have been increased to 2 stitches). On the next row (wrong side) work pattern as before; the yarn overs are knitted twisted to avoid holes. Change to circular needle size 3.5 mm and work rib from the right side as follows: 7 stitches in garter stitch, * knit 2, purl 2 *, work from *-* until there are 9 stitches left, knit 2 and 7 stitches in garter stitch. When the rib measures 4 cm, cast off with knit over knit and purl over purl - read CASTING-OFF TIP. The vest measures approx. 72-74-76-78-80-82 cm from the shoulder down. BACK PIECE: Left shoulder: Cast on 23-23-26-26-26-26 stitches with circular needle size 4.5 mm and Lima. Purl 1 row from the wrong side. Then work as follows from the right side: 1 stitch in garter stitch, A.1 (= 3 stitches) over the next 18-18-21-21-21-21 stitches, work the first 2 stitches in A.1, 2 stitches in garter stitch (= towards the armhole). Continue this pattern for 4 cm – adjust so the last row is worked from the wrong side. Continue this pattern for 4 cm – adjust so the next row is from the right side and work as follows: Work the 23-23-26-26-26-26 stitches on the right shoulder as before, cast on 32-38-38-38-44-44 new stitches for the neck and work the 23-23-26-26-26-26 stitches on the left shoulder as before = 78-84-90-90-96-96 stitches on the needle. Work 1 row from the wrong side, purling the new stitches on the neck and working the other stitches as before. Continue with 2 stitches in garter stitch in each side and work A.1 over all the other stitches. (A.2 is not worked on the back piece). When the piece measures 22-20-21-18-15-11 cm, increase for the armholes on both sides – remember INCREASE TIP. Increase like this every 2nd row a total of 3-6-6-12-18-24 times = 84-96-102-114-132-144 stitches. Finish the piece in the same way as the front piece. ASSEMBLY: Sew the shoulder seams with grafting stitches. Sew both the side seams, inside the 1 edge stitch - start under the sleeve and sew approx. 10-11-12-13-14-15 cm of the seam (= 38-39-40-41-42-43 cm split). NECK: Knit up 112-148 stitches around the neck with circular needle size 3.5 mm and Lima – number of stitches must be divisible by 4. When knitting up stitches on the 32-38-38-38-44-44 stitches which were cast on for the neck front and back, knit up 1 stitch in each knitted stitch and 2 stitches in each garter stitch. Work rib (= knit 2, purl 2) – make sure the 2 knitted stitches match the knitted stitches in A.1, the 2 purled stitches match the garter stitch in A.1 and rib fits between neck front and back. When the rib measures 13 cm, cast off with knit over knit and purl over purl - remember CASTING-OFF TIP. |
