Nå strikker du A.2 (over 2 masker), så A.3 4 ganger (over 12 masker) og til slutt A.4 (over 2 masker). 2+12+2 = 16 masker. Når 1. rad er strikket, har du 16 masker og 8 kast på pinnen. God Fornøyelse!

I have completed the diagrams A2-A4 and am still struggling to understand this pattern, ending up with over 80 stitches instead of 58. What have I done wrong. Could you please tell me how many stitches should be on the needle at the end of each patterned row (A3, rows 1, 3, 7, 11, 15). Thanks.
04.03.2019 - 19:15DROPS Design answered:
Dear Barbara, when diagrams are worked one time in height you should have 76 sts (pattern has been edited): 20 sts in A.2, 9 sts in each of the 4 A.3 and 20 sts in A.4. Happy knitting!

Diagramm 3: is there an increase in this row? Please give further explanation of: between 2 stitches make 1 yarn—over = knit 2 stitches together. Is that , two stitches together after the yarn—over?
27.02.2019 - 08:57DROPS Design answered:
Dear Barbara, you are increasing in diagram A.3 on row 1 (= K1, YO, K1, YO, K1), as well as on the rows where you will work 1 YO on each side of the middle st in A.3, on the row with dec and YO there will be no decreases, but you will have one more hole. Happy knitting!

Hi, I've just finished knitting this & wonder if you added a crochet edge to the top. From the photograph it seems similar to the cast off edge. Did you block it before photographing it as the sides of mine look frilly ? I've started another one which I think I will knit in just one colour!!!
12.05.2018 - 13:15DROPS Design answered:
Dear Mrs Sherrattt, there is no crochet edge along the top but you can work one if you like to. You can block your work to the finsihed measurements to get it flat. Happy knitting!

Du ser alle udtagninger i diagrammerne. Held og lykke!

Dear Drops-Team, Sorry I still don't understand. Do I cast on two stiches at the start and at the end of each row? Or only at the end? Many thanks
07.08.2017 - 18:56DROPS Design answered:
Dear Nicki, you will increase either at the beginning or at the end of the row, follow arrows in diagram showing knitting direction and increase when there is the 2nd symbol in diagram saying "knit 1 stitch and cast on 2 new stitches after this stitch". Happy knitting!

I'm starting A.x. Diagram and I'm wondering what's meant with 'cast on 2 new stitches at the end of every row in each side', specifically in each side? As the increases are shown just on one side of a row (the end of a row), where is the other side supposed to be? Many thanks
07.08.2017 - 09:09DROPS Design answered:
Dear Nicki, the two stitches should be cast on at the end of each row, in other words, each side of the shawl, thus it will be simmetric at the end. Happy Knitting!

I would like to knit Sweet Mauve by Drops Pattern but don't see the amounts of Brushed Alpaca Silk I would need in the pattern. Can you help me?

Dear Mrs Duguid, you will find required amount of yarn under tab "Materials" (with needle size and tension), ie: 50 g in each colour - Brushed Alpaca Silk = 25 g balls, read more here. Happy knitting!

PATTERN: See diagrams A.1 to A.4. Diagrams show all rows in pattern seen from the right side. STRIPES: When piece measures approx. 35 cm, work stripes with 1 row in each colour. I.e. work 1 row with light lavender and 1 row with off white after each other from the same side of piece. Because of this you need to increase differently than before in pattern A.x in the sides. Follow increases in pattern in A.x over A.3, but follow explanation below on how to increase in the sides. Arrows in diagram show knitting direction. ROW 1 = right side: Switch to off white and knit 1 row from right side and cast on 2 new stitches at the end of row (this is 1st row in A.x). Do not turn piece. ROW 2 = right side: Use strand in light lavender to make 2 new stitches at beginning of row from right side (make loops slipped twisted on the needle), then knit 1 row from right side (this is 2nd row in A.x). Turn piece. ROW 3 = wrong side: Use strand in off white to make 2 new stitches at beginning of row (make loops slipped twisted on the needle), then purl 1 row from wrong side (this is 3rd row in A.x). Do not turn piece. ROW 4 = wrong side: Switch to light lavender and purl 1 row from wrong side and cast on 2 new stitches at the end of row (this is 4th row in A.x). Turn piece. Repeat these 4 rows until 10 cm with stripes have been worked. ---------------------------------------------------------- SHAWL: Cast on 4 stitches on circular needle size 6 mm with light lavender. Work according to diagram A.1, i.e. work in stocking stitch and cast on new stitch at the end of every row. When diagram has been worked 1 time vertically, there are 16 stitches on row. Then work according to diagram A.2, A.3 and A.4 as follows: A.2 over 2 stitches, repeat A.3 until 2 stitches remain on row (= 4 times) and work A.4 over 2 stitches. NOTE: Increase stitches in all diagrams. When diagram has been worked 1 time vertically, there are 76 stitches on row. Insert 4 markers, 1 marker in the middle stitch of every repetition of A.3. Move the markers upwards, markers makes it easier to see where to increase (make lace pattern). Then repeat increases in the sides as shown in A.x, i.e. cast on 2 new stitches at the end of every row in each side. Continue increases (lace pattern) in the middle of each repetition of A.3 as shown in A.x and number of stitches on each side of A.3 increases, so move the markers upwards. Continue to increase and work like this until piece measures approx. 35 cm (measure height in the middle of piece) and adjust so that next row is 1st row in A.x. Now work STRIPES - see explanation above. Continue with stripes and increases in the sides as explained above and increases(lace pattern) as shown in A.x over A.3 until piece measures approx. 45 cm (measure height in the middle of piece) and adjust so that next row is 1st row or 4th row in A.x. Now continue with off white, but now increase in the sides as shown in A.x again and continue increasing(making lace pattern) over A.3 as shown in A.x until piece measures approx. 55 cm, adjust so that next row is from wrong side. Knit 1 row from wrong side. Use double yarn and loosely cast off on next row by knitting from right side. Cut the yarn and fasten. |
