Hello, With the star pattern, how many stitches, including the beginning and end of row stitches are the required minimum? 19 is a prime number, and the pattern increases for the star pattern are not divisable by 19. My swatch is not looking like a star pattern due to the number of stitches not lining up from right to wrong side rows. Thank you for your help. Best regards, Michelle

Dear Michelle, the star pattern is worked over 4 sts + 4 sts (to make the pattern symmetrical) + 2 edge sts (1 on each side). Maybe this video could help you to understand how to work it? Making a swatch over 17sts just as in the video could help. Happy knitting!
