I do have a question about the rows 3-5: there is a note: 'work 5-5-7 rounds with 1 dc in every dc (last row is worked from RS)'. If I work 3rd row WS how can I work last row (5th in this case) from RS? Thanks,
20.02.2017 - 14:52DROPS Design answered:
Dear Anna P., 3rd row will be worked from WS, 4th row will be worked from RS, 5th row will be worked from WS and so on until you have worked a total of 5 rows (+ the first 3 rows), so that you will end with a row from RS (= 8th row from the beg). Happy crocheting!

Hi, I can't understand how to start the toe and is the whole shoe worked with single crochet? In row 1 , what does work sc "inc "4 sc evenly, mean?
02.12.2016 - 22:24DROPS Design answered:
Dear Mrs Weaver, slippers are worked with sc, on row 1 and 3 you will have to inc sts evenly - read more here how to inc evenly. Happy crocheting!

After doing the round...what does RS and WS mean? Is it right side and wrong side? What does that mean? do I flip it over? confused
02.01.2016 - 00:11DROPS Design answered:
Dear Gina, that's right, RS = right side and WS = wrong side - you work in rows (= back and forth) but finish each row with 1 sl st in the beg of row, then turn to work alternately from RS and from WS. Happy crocheting!

Can someone make a video? I'm new to crochet and I've started this pattern and all I have is a giant circle. How could this possibly turn into a shoe????????
08.11.2015 - 14:20DROPS Design answered:
Dear Kyrie, you can get help from the video below - but remember to follow the pattern: start with a magic loop, join each round but turn at the end of each round to work alternately from RS and from WS. Happy crocheting!

Hej, första fm på magiska cirkeln brukar inte räknas som en fm. Gör den det i detta fallet för att garnet är tjockt? Tacksam för svar! Vänligen Karin

Hej Karin, Jo du räknar alla fm i cirkeln.

Easy pattern to follow and the slippers are really warm! A warning though, 200g is not enough yarn to make them in the largest size, I'd say at least 250g. I doubt that 200g will be enough for the middle size as well...

Hvordan hækler man 5-5-7 rækker med 1 fm?
22.08.2013 - 15:25DROPS Design answered:
Hej Ina.

Crochet DROPS slippers in "Polaris".
DROPS 150-25 |

MAGIC CIRCLE: When piece is worked in the round, start with this technique to avoid hole in the middle. Hold the yarn end with left hand and make a loop around left index finger (from left to right). Hold loop with left thumb and index finger. *stick hook through loop, pick up the yarn from the skein, pull yarn back through loop, make a yo around hook and pull yo through st on hook = 1 dc*, repeat *-* until there are 5-6-8 dc around loop, finish with 1 sl st in first dc. Continue as explained in pattern – AT THE SAME TIME pull the tail to close the loop and the hole will be gone. CROCHET INFO: Replace first dc from beg of row with 1 ch. Finish every round with 1 sl st in ch from beg of round. I.e. when piece is worked in the round you work alternating from RS and WS and fasten with 1 sl st in 1st ch on the round. ---------------------------------------------------------- SLIPPER: Slipper is worked on hook size 10 mm with 1 strand Polaris. Beg working from the toe. First work in the round – read CROCHET INFO above, and then continue back and forth. FOOT: Make a MAGIC CIRCLE - see explanation above. ROUND 1 (WS): Turn piece, work dc and inc 4 dc evenly = 9-10-12 dc - see CROCHET INFO above. ROUND 2 (RS): Turn piece and work 1 dc in each dc. ROUND 3 (WS): Turn piece, work dc and inc 4 dc evenly = 13-14-16 dc. Work 5-5-7 rounds with 1 dc in every dc (last row is worked from RS). HEEL: Now work back and forth over the first 10-11-13 dc. Work 10-12-14 rows with dc back and forth. Slipper measures approx. 22-24-26 cm in total. Work tog mid back with 1 row sl sts through both layers. Then work around the entire slipper as follows: 1 dc in every row and 1 dc in every dc mid on top of foot. Fasten off. Crochet another slipper. |
