Knitting tension: 17 sts x 22 rows on needles size 4.5 mm in stocking sts = 10 x 10 cm. Note! Make sure not to knit too loose! Casting off tips: When casting off for the neck knit sts which are not divisible into pattern in stocking sts. Measurement tip: Because of the weight of the yarn, all measurements should be made whilst the garment is hanging. Pattern: See diagrams M.1, M.2 and M.3. The diagrams are seen from the RS. K 4 twisted tog.: Twist the sts tog.as follows: Knit into the back part of sts instead of front part. Button holes: Cast off for button holes at the right front band: 1 button hole = Cast off the 3rd st from the mid front edge. On the returning row cast on a new st over the cast off st. Cast off for button holes when the piece measures: Size S: 4, 12, 20, 28, 36, 44 and 53 cm Size M: 4, 11, 18, 26, 33, 40, 48 and 55 cm Size L: 4, 11, 18, 26, 33, 40, 48 and 56 cm cm Size XL: 4, 11, 19, 27, 35, 43, 51 and 58 cm Size XXL: 4, 11, 19, 27, 35, 43, 51 and 59 cm ____________________________________________________________________ Back and front piece: Please read measurement tips! Knit the next row as follows – from the RS: Size S, M, L: 5 garter sts (=front band) K1, M.2, K4-5-5, *M.1, K8-10-13 sts*, repeat from *-* a total of 2 times , *M.1, K4-5-5*, repeat from *-* a total of 2 times, *M.1, K 8-10-13* repeat from *-* a total of 2 times, M.1, K4-5-5, M.3, K1, and finished with 5 garter sts (= front band). Size XL, XXL: 8 garter sts (= front band) M.1, K4-5, *M.1, K10-13* repeat from *-* a total of 2 times, *M.1. K4-5*, repeat from *-* a total of 3 times, *M.1, K10–13*, repeat from *-* a total of 2 times, M.1, K4-5, M.1, 8 garter sts (=front band). Please read the next section before knitting it! Continue this pattern until the piece measures 11 cm. Then continue in stocking sts over all sts except for the front band sts (which are knitted in garter sts throughout) until the piece measures 25-26-27-28-29 cm and then continue in pattern as previous explained. At the same time when the piece measures 10, 25 and 35 cm dec 1 st each time knitting the K8-10-13-10-13 section (= 4 dec each round) = 153-165-177-194-211 sts. When the piece measures 48-49-50-51-52 cm – remember the measurement tips – knit in stocking sts over the 2nd-2nd-2nd-3rd-3rd repeat and the 6th-6th-6th-8th-8th repeat of M.1, at the same time cast off the mid 5 sts for armholes in each of these repeats = 39-42-45-49-53 sts each front piece and 65-71-77-86-95 sts for the back piece. Finish each part separately: Back piece: = 65-71-77-86-95 sts. On the following row cast off for armholes each side: 3 sts 0-0-1-1-2 times, 2 sts 1-2-1-2-2 times and 1 st 0-0-1-2-3 times = 61-63-65-68-69 sts. When the piece measures 64-66-68-70-72 cm cast off the mid 25-25-27-28-29 sts for the neck. Continue to cast off 1 more sts towards each neck side – read casting off tips = 17-18-18-19-19 sts left for each shoulder. Cast off when the piece measures 66-68-70-72-74 cm. Right front: = 39-42-45-49-53 sts. Cast off for armholes as done for the back piece. When the piece measures 54-56-57-59-60 cm put 10 sts on a thread or a stitch holder at the mid front. Continue to cast off 1 st towards the neck on every other row a total of 10-10-11-11-11 times – read casting off tips = 17-18-18-19-19 sts left for shoulder. Cast off when the piece measures 66-68-70-72-74 cm. Left front: Knit as right front, but reverse. Sleeve: Knit back and forth. Cast on 59-63-67-71-75 sts (incl. 1 edge st each side) on needle size 4.5 mm with Silke-Alpaca. Knit 2 rows of garter sts, on the last row adjusting the number of sts to 55-59-63-67-71 sts. Knit the next row as follows - from the RS: 1 edge st, K 20-22-24-26-28 sts, M.1, K20-22-24-26-28 sts, 1 edge st. When the piece measures 7-7-7-6-6 cm cast off for the sleeve cap each side on every other row: 3 sts 1 time, 2 sts 3-3-3-3-4 times, 1 st 2-3-3-4-4 times. Continue to cast off 2 sts each side until the piece measures 14-15-16-16-17 cm, then cast off 3 sts 1 time each side. Cast off remaining sts when the piece measures 15-16-17-17-18 cm. Assembly: Sew shoulder seams, sew sleeve seams and sew the sleeves onto the back and front pieces. Sew on the buttons. Neck edge: Pick up approx. 84 to 98 sts around the neck (incl. the sts from the thread or stitch holder at the front). Knit 4 rows of garter sts and cast off. |
