Bon crochet!

------------------------------------------------------- EXPLANATIONS FOR THE PATTERN: ------------------------------------------------------- CHAIN STITCH: If you work outermost on the hook the chain stitch will often be too tight; 1 chain stitch should be as long as 1 TREBLE crochet is wide. CROCHET INFORMATION: At the beginning of each row of treble crochets, work 3 chain stitches which replace the first treble crochet. At the beginning of each row of double crochets, work 1 chain stitch which replaces the first double crochet. DECREASE TIP-1: Decrease 2 treble crochets by working 3 treble crochets together to 1 treble crochet as follows: * Make 1 yarn over, insert hook through the next stitch, pick up the strand, make 1 yarn over and pull it through the first 2 loops on the hook *, work from *-* a total of 3 times, make 1 yarn over and pull it through all 4 loops on the hook (2 decreased stitches). DECREASE TIP-2: Decrease 1 treble crochet by working 2 treble crochets together to 1 treble crochet as follows: * Make 1 yarn over, insert hook through the next stitch, pick up the strand, make 1 yarn over and pull it through the first 2 loops on the hook *, work from *-* a total of 2 times, make 1 yarn over and pull it through all 3 loops on the hook (1 decreased stitch). PATTERN: See diagrams A.1 and A.2. ------------------------------------------------------- START THE PIECE HERE: ------------------------------------------------------- VEST – SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE: The front and back pieces are worked separately, back and forth and bottom up. The shoulder seams are worked, then the neck is worked in the round to finish. BACK PIECE: Work 85-92-99-106-115-126-137 CHAIN STITCHES – read explanation above, with hook size 3.5 mm, 1 strand DROPS Puna and 1 strand DROPS Kid-Silk (2 strands). Turn and work 1 treble crochet in the 4th chain stitch from the hook, then 1 treble crochet in each chain stitch = 83-90-97-104-113-124-135 treble crochets; the first treble crochet on each row is replaced by 3 chain stitches – read CROCHET INFORMATION. Work treble crochets back and forth according to A.1 as follows: Work A.1a, then A.1b until there is 1 stitch left, work A.1c. Continue A.1 until the piece measures 31-32-33-34-35-36-37 cm. On the next row work across fewer stitches in each side to shape the armholes as follows – read DECREASE TIP-1: Work 1 slip stitch in each of the first 6 treble crochets (= armhole), work 3 chain stitches (replace the first treble crochet on the row), work 3 treble crochets together (2 decreased stitches), work 1 treble crochet in each of the next 63-70-77-84-93-104-115 treble crochets, work 3 treble crochets together (2 decreased stitches), finish with 1 treble crochet in the next treble crochet (the last 6 treble crochets on the row are not worked = armhole) = 67-74-81-88-97-108-119 treble crochets.
