How to cast on in old Norwegian knit (aka twisted German)

In this DROPS video we show how to cast on in the old Norwegian knit style also known as twisted German cast-on.

This is a cast on that gives a sturdy and stretchy baseline of stitches. Perfect for the top of socks, edge on hats or whenever you want very stretchy cast on.

Dear Drops, I hope you can help me. After casting on in the German Twist, I was knitting my first row and I had to go back a bit because I made a mistake (I am doing 2 knit/2 purl). While going back I dropped one of the German Twist stiches. Is there a way to fix this without having to undo half my work? (I have cast on 120 stitches and this happened around stitch 70...) Thanks in advance!

Dear Feline, sorry, we are not sure to have any tipp to fix this, depending on your yarn and the piece worked, you can either try to increase a new stitch on first row over the dropped one, or unravel and cast on again. Your store might have any more tips for you, do not hesitate to contact them even per mail or telephone. Happy knitting!

Bonjour Janine, vous pouvez au choix commencer par un rang end ou directement par les côtes en fonction de l'effet voulu. Si vous avez tendance à tricoter serré, ajustez la taille d'aiguilles du montage pour conserver un bord extensible et surtout pensez bien à faire votre échantillon et à adapter la taille des aiguilles pour avoir le bon nombre de mailles/rangs indiqué dans le modèle.
