Bon tricot!

---------------------------------------------------------- EXPLANATION FOR THE PATTERN: ---------------------------------------------------------- PATTERN: See diagram A.1. See diagram for your size. INCREASE/DECREASE TIP (evenly): To calculate how to increase/decrease evenly, use the total number of stitches on row (e.g. 88 stitches) and divide stitches by number of increases/decreases to be done (e.g. 32) = 2.75. In this example increase by making 1 yarn over after alternately approx. every 2nd and 3rd stitch. On next row purl yarn overs twisted to avoid holes. DECREASE TIP (applies to sleeves): Decrease 1 stitch on each side of marker thread as follows: Work until 3 stitches remain before marker thread and knit 2 together, knit 2 (marker thread is between these stitches), slip 1 stitch knitwise, knit 1, pass slipped stitch over stitch worked. CAST-OFF TIP: To avoid a tight cast-off edge you may use a larger needle. If this also is too tight, make 1 yarn over after approx. every 4th stitch, cast off these as regular stitches. ---------------------------------------------------------- START THE PIECE HERE: ---------------------------------------------------------- JUMPER - SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE: Work neck edge and yoke in the round on circular needle from mid back, top down. Now divide yoke for body and sleeves. Body is worked in the round on circular needle, top down. Work sleeves in the round on double pointed needles/a short circular needle, top down. NECK EDGE: Cast on 88-92-100-104-108-116 stitches on circular needle size 4 mm with pink. Knit 1 round, then work rib knit 2/purl 2. Continue like this until rib measures 3 cm. Switch to circular needle size 5 mm. Knit 1 round while increasing 32-36-36-32-36-44 stitches evenly - READ INCREASE TIP = 120-128-136-136-144-160 stitches. Insert 1 marker on round – NOW MEASURE YOKE FROM HERE! Work yoke as explained below. YOKE: Work in stocking stitch for 1½-2½-3-3-4-5 cm. Knit 1 round while increasing 0-0-0-40-40-48 stitches evenly = 120-128-136-176-184-208 stitches. Then work A.1 over all stitches (= 15-16-17-22-23-26 repetitions of 8 stitches). REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION! AT THE SAME TIME increase stitches evenly on every round marked with arrow in A.1 as explained below: Arrow-1: Increase 32-40-40-40-40-40 stitches evenly = 152-168-176-216-224-248 stitches. Arrow-2: Increase 24-32-32-32-32-32 stitches evenly = 176-200-208-248-256-280 stitches. Arrow-3: Increase 24-32-32-32-32-32 stitches evenly = 200-232-240-280-288-312 stitches. Continue until A.1 has been worked 1 time vertically, then work in stocking stitch with pink until piece measures 15-17-18-20-22-24 cm from marker. Then work rib knit 2/purl 2 over all stitches. Work 4 rounds rib. Work 2 rounds in stocking stitch, on next round increase 30-22-30-22-34-30 stitches evenly = 230-254-270-302-322-342 stitches. Continue in stocking stitch until piece measures 20-22-23-25-27-29 cm from marker. Work next round as follows: Work 33-37-39-43-48-52 stitches as before (= half back piece), slip the next 48-52-56-64-64-66 stitches on 1 stitch holder for sleeve, cast on 6-6-8-8-10-12 new stitches on row (= in the side under sleeve), work 68-76-80-88-98-106 stitches as before (= front piece), slip the next 48-52-56-64-64-66 stitches on 1 stitch holder for sleeve, cast on 6-6-8-8-10-12 new stitches on row (= in the side under sleeve) and work the 33-37-39-43-48-52 stitches as before (= half back piece). Finish body and sleeves separately. NOW MEASURE PIECE FROM HERE! BODY: = 146-162-174-190-214-234 stitches. Continue with pink and stocking stitch. Work until piece measures 22-22-23-23-23-23 cm from division, or desired length. Work 1 round while increasing 30-30-34-38-42-46 stitches evenly = 176-192-208-228-256-280 stitches. Switch to circular needle size 4 mm, and work rib knit 2/purl 2. Continue rib like this for 4 cm. Then cast off stitches with knit over knit and purl over purl but make sure to avoid a tight cast-off edge - READ CAST-OFF TIP. Jumper measures approx. 50-52-54-56-58-60 cm from shoulder and down. SLEEVE: Slip the 48-52-56-64-64-66 stitches from stitch holder in one side of piece on double pointed needles size 5 mm and pick in addition up 1 stitch in each of the 6-6-8-8-10-12 new stitches cast on under sleeve = 54-58-64-72-74-78 stitches. Insert 1 marker thread in the middle of the 6-6-8-8-10-12 stitches under sleeve and move the marker thread upwards when working. Use marker thread later when decreasing mid under sleeve. Begin on round at the marker thread and work in stocking stitch with pink. When piece measures 3 cm from division, decrease 2 stitches mid under sleeve - read DECREASE TIP. Decrease like this every 12-5-6-3-3-2 cm 3-5-6-10-9-11 times in total = 48-48-52-52-56-56 stitches. When sleeve measures 36-35-33-32-30-29 cm from division, switch to double pointed needles size 4 mm. Work rib in the round = knit 2/purl 2 for 4 cm. Cast off stitches with knit over knit and purl over purl but make sure to avoid a tight cast-off edge. Sleeve measures approx. 40-39-38-36-34-33 from division. Work the other sleeve the same way. |
