Something else I noticed with this pattern - there are no instructions for knitting M3 on the sleeves. I'm guessing it should be started about 6/7cm from the end and crossing my fingers it lines up!

Unfortunately the tension had been wrong when the pattern was translated. The original patterns sais: 16 sts x 20 rows. The pattern is now corrected.

I think the knitting tension at the beginning of the pattern is wrong - my maths makes it 16 sts x 40 rows = 10 x 10 mm.

Knitting tension: 16 sts x 20 rows on needles size 5.5 mm in stocking sts = 10 x 10 cm. Rib: *K3, P3*, repeat from *-*. Pattern: See diagrams M.1, M.2 and M.3. The diagram is seen from the right side. Back and front piece: The jumper is knitted round on circular needles. Cast on 144-156-168-186-204 sts on circular needle size 5 mm in charcoal grey Alaska. Knit 8 cm Rib – see explanation above. Change to circular needle size 5.5 mm and knit stocking sts until piece measures 8-9-9-10-11 cm. Now knit M.1 (the arrow only applies to the sleeve and in Size S, M.1 starts immediately after the Rib). After M.1 continue in charcoal grey and stocking sts until piece measures 28-30-31-32-34 cm. At the same time, on the last row dec 2-2-2-4-2 sts evenly on round = 146-158-170-190-206 sts. Now put the first 73-79-85-95-103 sts on a thread (= front piece) and knit back and forth on the remaining 73-79-85-95-103 sts = back piece. Back piece: Please read all of the following section before continuing! Pattern: Knit M.2 – see arrow in diagram which marks the middle. After M.2 continue in charcoal grey until piece measures 44-46-47-49-51 cm. Now knit M.3 - see arrow in diagram which marks the middle. After M.3 finish the piece in charcoal grey. Armhole: At the same time, when piece measures 36-37-38-38-40 cm dec for armhole each side on every other row: 3 sts 1 time, 2 sts 1-2-3-5-6 times and 1 st 2-2-3-3-4 times = 59-61-61-63-65 sts. Neck: At the same time, when piece measures 54-56-58-60-62 cm cast off the middle 23-25-25-27-27 sts for neck and dec 1 st on neckline on next row = 17-17-17-17-18 sts left on each shoulder. Cast off when piece measures 56-58-60-62-64 cm. Front piece: Put the 73-79-85-95-103 sts from thread back on needle and knit as described for back piece until piece measures 50-52-54-56-58 cm. Now cast off the middle 17-19-19-21-21 sts for neck and dec to shape the neckline on every other row: 2 sts 1 time and 1 st 2 times = 17-17-17-17-18 sts left on each shoulder. Cast off when piece measures 56-58-60-62-64 cm. Sleeve: Knitted round on double pointed needles. Cast on 49-49-56-56-56 sts on double pointed needles size 5 mm with charcoal grey Alaska. Knit Rib *K3, P4*. After 2 rows dec all P4 to P3 = 42-42-48-48-48 sts. Continue until Rib measures 10 cm. Change to double pointed needles size 5.5 mm and continue in stocking sts. Please read all of the following section before continuing! Increases: At the same time after the Rib inc 2 sts mid under arm on every 6-4-4-3.5-2.5 cm a total of 7-9-9-10-13 times = 56-60-66-68-74 sts. Pattern: At the same time when piece measures 13-14-15-16-17 cm knit M.1 – see arrow in diagram which marks the middle of the sleeve. After M.1 continue in charcoal grey. Sleeve cap: When piece measures 48-47-47-46-44 cm (shorter for the larger sizes as the armhole is bigger) dec for sleeve cap and continue back and forth on needle from mid under arm. Dec each side on every other row: 3 sts 1 time, 2 sts 3 times, 1 st 1-2-3-4-5 times and 2 sts each side until piece measures 55-55-56-56-56 cm, now dec 3 sts each side 1 time. At the same time as work measures 49-49-50-50-50 cm knit M.3. Cast of remaining sts when piece measures approx 56-56-57-57-57 cm. Assembly: Sew the shoulder seams. Sew in sleeves - make sure the pattern on sleeves and body pieces match. Neck: Pick up approx 66 – 78 sts (divisible by 6) round the neck on double pointed needles size 5 mm with charcoal grey Alaska. Knit 12-12-12-13-13 cm Rib – see explanation above. Cast off loosely in Rib. |
