Bonjour Merci pour tous ces super modèles Je suis en train de tricoter ce modèle J ai une question sur cette partie Mettre 1 marqueur après les 27-27-28-29-29-31-32 premières mailles (milieu devant approximativement). On mesure désormais à partir d'ici.

Hello, I am a seasoned knitter and am loving this pattern. However, I would like to clarify the increasing of the yoke. The first increase is from the marker, the increases for the yoke thereafter are to knit until the piece measure a specific length. My thinking was the marker would move with each increase, thereby using this as the placeholder that would allow me to measure the distance between increases. Please clarify. Thank you
08.07.2026 - 03:36DROPS Design answered:
Hi Sarah, This marker does not follow your work onwards but stays in place by the neckline. The increases are evenly worked on the round and do not affect the position of the marker. Regards, Drops Team.

I am knitting the jumper in size 134/140. Is the sleeve decrease information correct in relation to the length of the sleeve? If I knit 2cm then 5x decreases after 7.5cm I am already past the length when I should start working the rib. Best to decrease a bit more freely and according to the child's actual arm length?
06.05.2026 - 12:37DROPS Design answered:
Dear Claudia, the first decrease will be worked after 2 cm, the 2nd after 9.5 cm, the 3rd after 17 cm, the 4th after 24,5 cm and the 5th after 32 cm, so that there remain 3 cm before the requested 35 cm before rib. Happy knitting!

------------------------------------------------------- EXPLANATIONS FOR THE PATTERN: ------------------------------------------------------- INCREASE TIP (evenly spaced): To work out how to increase evenly, count the total number of stitches on the needle (e.g., 84 stitches) and divide by the number of increases to be made (e.g., 20) = 4.2. In this example, increase by making 1 yarn-over after approx each 4th stitch. On the next round knit the yarn overs twisted to avoid holes. SLEEVE TIP: When knitting up stitches under the sleeve, you can get a small hole in the transition between stitches on the body and sleeve. This hole can be closed by picking up the strand between 2 stitches and working this strand twisted together with the first stitch between body and sleeve. DECREASE TIP: Decrease 1 stitch on each side of the marker-thread as follows: Work until there are 3 stitches left before the marker-thread, knit 2 together, knit 2 (marker-thread sits between these 2 stitches), slip 1 stitch knit-wise, knit 1 and pass the slipped stitch over the knitted stitch (2 stitches decreased). ------------------------------------------------------- START THE PIECE HERE: ------------------------------------------------------- JUMPER – SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE: The pattern uses both long and short needles; start with the length which fits the number of stitches and change when necessary. The neck and yoke are worked in the round with circular needle, top down and from the right back shoulder. When the yoke is finished, it is divided for the body and sleeves and the body continued in the round, while the sleeves wait. The sleeves are worked top down, in the round. If there is a «0» in your chosen size, skip the information and go straight to the next instruction. NECK: Cast on 80-80-84-88-88-92-96 stitches with circular needle or double pointed needles size 3 mm and DROPS Fiesta. Knit 1 round. Then work rib in the round (knit 1, purl 1) for 3-3-3-3-4-4-4 cm. The round begins on the right back shoulder. Insert 1 marker after the first 27-27-28-29-29-31-32 stitches (approx. mid-front). The piece is measured from here. YOKE: Change to circular needle size 4 mm. Knit 1 round and increase 16-20-20-20-24-24-24 stitches evenly spaced – read INCREASE TIP = 96-100-104-108-112-116-120 stitches. Work stocking stitch, increasing as follows: Remember to maintain the knitting tension. When the piece measures 2-2-3-3-3-3-3 cm from the marker, increase 24-25-26-27-28-29-30 stitches evenly spaced, i.e., make a yarn over after each 4th stitch on the round = 120-125-130-135-140-145-150 stitches. When the piece measures 4-4-5-5-5-5½-5½ cm, increase 24-25-26-27-28-29-30 stitches evenly spaced, i.e., make a yarn over after each 5th stitch on the round = 144-150-156-162-168-174-180 stitches. When the piece measures 6-6-7-7-7-8-8 cm, increase 24-25-26-27-28-29-30 stitches evenly spaced, i.e., make a yarn over after each 6th stitch on the round = 168-175-182-189-196-203-210 stitches. When the piece measures 8-8-9-9-9-10½-10½ cm, increase 24-25-26-27-28-29-30 stitches evenly spaced, i.e., make a yarn over after each 7th stitch on the round = 192-200-208-216-224-232-240 stitches. When the piece measures 10-10-11-11-11-13-13 cm, increase 24-25-26-27-28-29-30 stitches evenly spaced, i.e., make a yarn over after each 8th stitch on the round = 216-225-234-243-252-261-270 stitches. On the next round, increase 0-1-0-1-0-1-0 stitches = 216-226-234-244-252-262-270 stitches. Continue stocking stitch. When the yoke measures 13-14-15-16-17-18-18 cm from the marker, divide for the body and sleeves. DIVIDE FOR BODY AND SLEEVES: Place the first 46-48-48-50-51-52-53 stitches on a stitch holder for the sleeve, cast on 6-6-8-8-8-10-10 stitches (mid-under the sleeve), knit 62-65-69-72-75-79-82 (= front piece), place the next 46-48-48-50-51-52-53 stitches on a stitch holder for the sleeve, cast on 6-6-8-8-8-10-10 stitches (mid-under the sleeve), knit the last 62-65-69-72-75-79-82 stitches (= back piece). The body and sleeves are finished separately. BODY: = 136-142-154-160-166-178-184 stitches. Insert 1 marker in the middle of the 6-6-8-8-8-10-10 cast-on stitches under one sleeve. Knit to the marker. The round begins here. Continue stocking stitch in the round until the piece measures 26-29-33-37-40-42-43 cm from the marker mid-front. Change to circular needle size 3 mm. Work rib (knit 1, purl 1), AT THE SAME TIME increase 24-30-30-32-34-34-36 stitches evenly spaced on the first round – remember INCREASE TIP = 160-172-184-192-200-212-220 stitches. When the rib measures 3-3-3-3-4-4-4 cm, cast off with rib. The jumper measures approx. 29-32-36-40-44-46-47 cm from the marker on mid front and 33-36-40-44-48-50-52 cm from the shoulder. SLEEVES: Place the 46-48-48-50-51-52-53 sleeve-stitches from one stitch holder onto circular needle size 4 mm and knit up 1 stitch in each of the 6-6-8-8-8-10-10 stitches cast on under the sleeve – read SLEEVE TIP = 52-54-56-58-59-62-63 stitches. Insert a marker-thread in the middle of the 6-6-8-8-8-10-10 stitches under the sleeve. The round starts by the marker-thread. Work stocking stitch in the round. AT THE SAME TIME, when the sleeve measures 2 cm from the division, decrease mid-under the sleeve – read DECREASE TIP as follows: Decrease 2 stitches every 3-4-5-5½-7½-7-10 cm 6-6-6-6-5-6-5 times = 40-42-44-46-49-50-53 stitches. Continue working until the sleeve measures 20-25-29-32-35-39-44 cm from the division. Change to double pointed needles size 3 mm. Work rib (knit 1, purl 1), AT THE SAME TIME increase 8-6-8-6-7-8-7 stitches evenly on the first round = 48-48-52-52-56-58-60 stitches. When the rib measures 3-3-3-3-4-4-4 cm, cast off with rib. The sleeve measures approx. 23-28-32-35-39-43-48 cm from the division. |
