Bon tricot!

---------------------------------------------------------- EXPLANATION FOR THE PATTERN: ---------------------------------------------------------- GARTER STITCH (back and forth): Knit all rows. 1 ridge vertically = knit 2 rows. PATTERN: See diagram A.1. Diagrams show all rows in pattern seen from the right side. INCREASE TIP-1: Increase 1 stitch inside 1 edge stitch in garter stitch, increase by making a yarn over, on next row (= wrong side) purl yarn over twisted to avoid holes. Work the increased stitches in stocking stitch. INCREASE TIP-2 (evenly): To calculate how to increase evenly, use the total number of stitches on row (e.g. 59 stitches), , minus edge stitches (e.g. 2 stitches) , and divide the remaining stitches by number of increases to be done (e.g. 7) = 8.1. In this example increase by making 1 yarn over after approx. every 8th stitch. On next row work yarn overs twisted to avoid holes. INCREASE TIP-3 (applies to sleeves): Work until 1 stitch remains before marker thread, make 1 yarn over, knit 2 (marker thread is between these stitches), make 1 yarn over. On next round knit yarn overs twisted to avoid holes. CAST-OFF TIP: To avoid a tight cast-off edge when casting off, you may use a larger needle. If this still is too tight make 1 yarn over after approx. every 4th stitch while casting off (cast off yarn overs as stitches). ---------------------------------------------------------- START THE PIECE HERE: ---------------------------------------------------------- JUMPER - SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE: Work front piece and back piece from the top and down, back and forth on needle. Sew the piece together as explained in pattern. Work sleeves bottom up, in the round on double pointed needles/circular needle. Finish with a high collar. BACK PIECE: Cast on 53-57-59-61-63-65 stitches on circular needle size 8 mm with DROPS Wish. Work first row as follows from right side: 1 edge stitch in GARTER STITCH = read explanation above, work 6-8-9-10-11-12 stitches in stocking stitch, A.1 (= 39 stitches), 6-8-9-10-11-12 stitches in stocking stitch, 1 edge stitch in garter stitch. Continue this pattern until piece measures 19-18-18-19-17-17 cm. Now increase 1 stitch in each side inside edge stitch in garter stitch - read INCREASE TIP-1. Increase like this every other row a total of 1-2-3-3-5-6 times, piece now measures approx. 20-21-22-23-24-25 cm, and there are 55-61-65-67-73-77 stitches on needle. At the end of the next 2 rows cast on 2-2-2-4-4-6 new stitches in each side = 59-65-69-75-81-89 stitches. Then work as follows: 1 edge stitch in garter stitch, work 9-12-14-17-20-24 stitches in stocking stitch, A.1, 9-12-14-17-20-24 stitches in stocking stitch, 1 edge stitch in garter stitch. Continue this pattern until piece measures 47-49-51-53-55-57 cm (= 27-28-29-30-31-32 cm from where new stitches were cast on in each side). Switch to circular needle size 7 mm. Knit 1 row from right side while increasing 7-7-7-9-9-9 stitches evenly - read INCREASE TIP-2 = 66-72-76-84-90-98 stitches. On next row (= from wrong side) work rib as follows: 1 edge stitch in garter stitch, * purl 1, knit 1 *, repeat from-* until 1 stitch remains, 1 edge stitch in garter stitch. Continue rib for 5 cm, cast off with knit over knit and purl over purl - read CAST-OFF TIP. Piece measures approx. 52-54-56-58-60-62 cm in total from shoulder. FRONT PIECE: Cast on and work the same way as back piece. SLEEVES: Work sleeves in the round from the bottom up on double pointed needles. Switch to a short circular needle when needed. Cast on 30-32-34-36-38-40 stitches on double pointed needles size 7 mm with DROPS Wish. Work rib (knit 1/purl 1) for 5 cm. Switch to double pointed needles size 8 mm. Insert 1 marker thread at beginning of round = mid under sleeve. When piece measures 8 cm, increase 1 stitch on each side of marker thread - read INCREASE TIP-3! Increase like this every 8-8-8-8-7½-7½ cm 5 times in total = 40-42-44-46-48-50 stitches. When piece measures 46-44-43-42-41-37 cm, cast off 3 stitches on each side of marker thread (= 6 stitches cast off mid under sleeve), now work sleeve back and forth. NOTE: Shorter measurements in the larger sizes because of wider neck and longer sleeve cap. Cast off for sleeve cap at beginning of every row in each side as follows: Cast off 2 stitches 1-1-2-2-2-2 times and 1 stitch 1-1-2-2-3-3 times. Then cast off 2 stitches in each side until piece measures approx. 52-51-51-51-51-48 cm in all sizes, cast off 3 stitches 1 time in each side, then cast off the remaining stitches. Sleeve measures approx. 53-52-52-52-52-49 cm. Work another sleeve the same way. ASSEMBLY: Sew shoulder seams, starting at the end of each shoulder, and leaving the middle 16-16-18-18-20-20 cm for neck. Sew side seams in outer loops of edge stitches. HIGH COLLAR: Pick up approx. 52-64 stitches on a short circular needle size 7 mm around the neck (number of stitches should be divisible by 4) with DROPS Wish. Work rib (= knit 2/purl 2) the entire round. Work rib for 10 cm, then cast off with knit over knit and purl over purl. |
