Bon tricot!

There is no instruction in the pattern for *+ 2 rounds M1 in rib* as you stated in your answer. It also says to slip stitches from needle holder, not knit them from needle holder. Nevertheless I shall invent something to make it work.

Dear Mrs Stok, that's how the leg finished on the picture, you work M.1 to heel (2 rows off white), then work 1 row picking up sts (= 3 rows in total), then work M.1 again over all sts starting to dec on 3rd round in M.1 but you start working on next round with light brown - see pattern. Happy knitting!

Hello. I can not see how you have made the part between the leg section and the foot section where (according to the photo) there are at least four rows of rib without a colour contrast row. I have continued the M1 pattern as instructed, and my contrast colour continues as the 1st row in the pattern, unbroken.

Dear Mrs Stok, in the picture there was 2 rounds off white before working heel + 1 round picking up sts along sides of heel and working back sts from st holder + 2 rounds M.1 in rib = 5 rounds from last stripe in light brown from leg. Work now M.1 from row 1 ie with stripes. Happy knitting!

" i mönstret.

Knitted DROPS socks with rib and pattern in ”Alaska”.
DROPS 131-27 |

SOCK: Worked in the round on double pointed needles. Cast on 55-60-65 sts on double pointed needles size 4 mm with off white and work 1 round in stocking st. Then work rib K 2/P 3. When piece measures 3 cm, dec 1 st in every other P-section by P the first 2 P sts tog = 49-54-58 sts. When piece measures 5 cm, dec 1 st in the remaining P-sections with 3 P sts (= K 2/P 2 the entire round). Work diagram M.1 in rib. When piece measures 14-16-18 cm, slip 22-26-26 sts (make sure that there are 2 K sts in each side) on 1 stitch holder (= on top of foot). Keep the remaining 22-22-26 sts on needle for heel. Then work in stocking st with off white back and forth over heel sts for 5-5½-6 cm while at the same time adjusting no of heel sts to 18-20-22 on 1st row - insert 1 marker in the middle of this row - now measure piece from here. Now dec for heel as follows: Row 1 (= RS): Work until 7-8-9 sts remain, K 2 tog, turn piece. Row 2 (= WS): Slip 1st st, work until 7-8-9 sts remain, P 2 tog, turn piece. Row 3: Slip 1st st, work until 6-7-8 sts remain, K 2 tog, turn piece. Row 4: Slip 1st st, work until 6-7-8 sts remain, P 2 tog, turn piece. Continue dec like this with 1 less st before slipping 1 st until there are 6 sts on needle. Knit up 12-12-14 sts along each side of heel and slip the 22-26-26 sts from stitch holder back on needle = 52-56-60 sts. Continue with diagram M.1 in rib. At the same time, on 3rd round of M.1 start to dec each side of the 22-26-26 sts on top of foot as follows: K 3 tog before the 22-26-26 sts – continue the round and K 3 tog on the other side after the 22-26-26 sts – there are now 4 K sts in a row in each side. On next round where pattern colour is worked, work the 2 middle sts of the 4 K sts in pattern colour. Work the next 2 rounds of diagram M.1 (you are now on the the 2nd row in the 2 rounds with off white) - and repeat dec one more time by K 3 sts tog in each side – diagram M.1 will now fit again = 44-48-52 sts. Then work diagram M.1 for 10 cm, now continue with rib and off white. When piece measures 18-20-23 cm from marker on heel, insert 1 marker in each side (there should be 22-24-26 sts between markers). Continue working in stocking st over all sts while at the same time dec for toes as follows on each side of both markers: K 2 tog, K 2 (marker is between these 2 sts), K 2 twisted tog. Dec like this in each side on every round a total of 9-9-10 times = 8-12-12 sts remain on needle. On next round work all sts tog 2 by 2. Cut the thread and pull it through the remaining sts, tighten tog and fasten. |
