---------------------------------------------------------- EXPLANATION FOR THE PATTERN: ---------------------------------------------------------- RAGLAN: Increase 1 stitch by making 1 yarn over. On next round work yarn overs as explained below: BEFORE RAGLAN STITCHES (= twist yarn over towards the right): Move yarn over from left needle to right needle purlwise, slip yarn over back on left needle by inserting left needle from behind in yarn over (yarn over is now twisted). Knit yarn over in loop in front of needle - to avoid holes. AFTER RAGLAN STITCHES (= twist yarn over towards the left): Knit yarn overs in loop behind the needle - to avoid holes. SLEEVE TIP: When picking up stitches mid under sleeve, there will be a small hole in the transition between stitches on body and sleeves. The holes can be closed by picking up the strand between two stitches - work this strand twisted together with the first stitch between body and sleeve to close the hole. DECREASE TIP: Decrease 1 stitch on each side of marker thread as follows: Work until 3 stitches remain before marker thread, knit 2 together, knit 2 (marker thread is between these 2 stitches), slip 1 stitch knitwise, knit 1, pass slipped stitch over stitch worked (= 2 stitches decreased). ---------------------------------------------------------- START THE PIECE HERE: ---------------------------------------------------------- JUMPER - SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE: In this pattern needles of different length have been used, begin with fitting length for number of stitches and switch as needed. Work neck edge and yoke in the round on circular needle from mid back, work top down. When yoke is done, divide piece for body and sleeves. Work body downwards in the round on circular needle while putting the sleeves aside. Then work sleeves downwards in the round on needle. If 0 stitches are given for the chosen size, it means that you skip the information and jump to next information. NECK EDGE: Cast on 66-68-70-72-76-80-84 stitches on circular needle size 7 mm with DROPS Andes or DROPS Snow. Switch to circular needles size 5.5 mm and work stocking stitch in the round for 3½-4-4-4-4½-4½-4½ cm (= rolling edge). Knit 1 round while decreasing 4 stitches evenly = 62-64-66-68-72-76-80 stitches. Work neck border as follows: ROUND 1: Number of stitches is doubled on this round: * Knit 1, make 1 yarn over *, work from *-* the entire round= 124-128-132-136-144-152-160 stitches. ROUND 2: * Slip next stitch on to right needle without working it, when slipping the stitch insert right needle into stitch as if to purl with strand behind piece, purl yarn over *, work from *-* the entire round. ROUND 3: * Knit 1, slip next stitch on to right needle without working it, when slipping the stitch insert right needle into stitch as if to purl with strand behind piece *, work from *-* the entire round. ROUND 4: * Slip next stitch on to right needle without working it, when slipping the stitch insert right needle into stitch as if to purl with strand behind piece, purl 1 *, work from *-* the entire round. ROUND 5: Number of stitches is halved: * Knit 2 together *, repeat from *-* the entire round = 62-64-66-68-72-76-80 stitches. Beginning of round is mid back. Insert 1 marker at the beginning round, measure piece from this marker. YOKE: Continue with circular needle size 7 mm. Insert 4 markers in piece without working the stitches, insert markers between 2 stitches, these 2 stitches are called raglan stitches and increase is done for raglan on each side of raglan stitches. Count 11-11-12-12-13-14-15 stitches (= approx. half back piece), insert 1st marker before next stitch, count 10 stitches (= sleeve), insert 2nd marker in next stitch, count 21-22-23-24-26-28-30 stitches (= front piece), insert 3rd marker before next stitch, count 10 stitches (= sleeve), insert 4th marker before next stitch, 10-11-11-12-13-14-15 stitches remain after last marker (= approx. half back piece). Work in stocking stitch in the round and increase for RAGLAN on each side of raglan stitches - read explanation above for increase method. Work as follows: ROUND 1: Work in stocking stitch and increase for raglan on each side of raglan stitches (= 8 stitches increased). ROUND 2: Work in stocking stitch - remember to work the yarn overs as explain RAGLAN. Work 1st and 2nd ROUND 12-14-17-17-17-18-18 times (= 24-28-34-34-34-36-36 rounds worked) = 158- 264-176-202-204-208-220-224 stitches on needle. Remember to follow the knitting tension! Do not increase for sleeves anymore, work as follows: ROUND 1: Work in stocking stitch and increase for raglan on front piece and back piece, i.e. increase before 1st and 3rd marker and after 2nd and 4th marker - do not increase stitches on sleeves (= 4 stitches increased). ROUND 2: Work in stocking stitch - remember to work the yarn overs as explain RAGLAN. Work 1st and 2nd ROUND 3-2-0-1-2-3-5 times (= 6-4-0-2-4-6-10 rounds worked) = 170- 264-184-202-208-216-232-244 stitches on needle. All increases for raglan are now done; 15-16-17-18-19-21-23 increases have been done in total on front piece/back piece and 12-14-17-17-17-18-18 increases on sleeves. Work in stocking stitch without increase until piece measures 21-22-24-25-26-28-31 cm from marker mid back. Now divide yoke for body and sleeves. DIVIDING FOR BODY AND SLEEVES: AT THE SAME TIME as next round is worked divide yoke for body and sleeves as follows: Work 26-27-30-31-33-36-39 stitches in stocking stitch (= approx. half back piece), slip the next 34-38-42-42-42-44-44 stitches on a thread for sleeve, cast on 6-8-8-10-12-12-14 new stitches on the needle (= in the side mid under sleeve), work 51-54-59-62-66-72-78 stitches in stocking stitch (= front piece), slip the next 34-38-42-42-42-44-44 stitches on a thread for sleeve, 6-8-8-10-12-12-14 new stitches on the needle (= in the side mid under sleeve) and work the last 25-27-29-31-33-36-39 stitches in stocking stitch (= approx. half back piece). Finish body and sleeves separately. BODY: = 114-124-134-144-156-168-184 stitches. Insert 1 marker in one side of piece (= in the middle of the 6-8-8-10-12-12-14 stitches that were cast on under sleeve). Work until marker, round begins here and work in the round. Work stocking stitch in the round until piece measures 54-56-58-60-62-64-66 cm from marker mid back. Switch to circular needle size 5.5 mm. Work 2 rounds rib (= knit 3 and purl 1) while AT THE SAME TIME increasing 2-0-2-0-0-0-0 stitches evenly on 1st round = 116-124-136-144-156-168-184 stitches. Knit 2 rounds (= rolling edge). Use needle size 7 mm and cast off by knitting. Jumper measures approx. 56-58-60-62-64-66-68 cm from marker mid back and 60-62-64-66-68-70-72 cm from the top of shoulder. SLEEVES: Slip 34-38-42-42-42-44-44 sleeve stitches from one thread on to double pointed needles / circular needle size 7 mm and pick in addition up 1 stitch in each of the 6-8-8-10-12-12-14 stitches cast on under sleeve - read SLEEVE TIP = 40-46-50-52-54-56-58 stitches. Insert 1 marker in the middle of the 6-8-8-10-12-12-14 new stitches under sleeve - round begins at the marker thread. Work in stocking stitch in the round on needle - AT THE SAME TIME when sleeve measures 1 cm from division, decrease mid under sleeve – read DECREASE TIP and decrease as follows: Decrease 2 stitches every 10-10-8-7-6-5-5 cm 2-5-6-7-7-8-8 times in total = 36-36-38-38-40-40-42 stitches on needle. Work until sleeve measures 49-49-48-47-46-45-41 cm from division. Switch to needle size 5.5 mm. Work 2 rounds rib (= knit 3 and purl 1) while AT THE SAME TIME increasing 0-0-2-2-0-0-2 stitches evenly on 1st round = 36-36-40-40-40-40-44 stitches. Knit 2 rounds (= rolling edge). Use needle size 7 mm and cast off by knitting. Sleeve measures approx. 51-51-50-49-48-47-43 cm from division. |
