First off, Thank you this beautiful pattern. Second; I was wondering if I could use the Kitchener stitch to put the two half together. Wouldn't that allow the stretch of the yarn for the pattern?? Thank you for your answer in advance.
01.01.2022 - 05:06DROPS Design answered:
Dear Sherry, of course you can try to do the kitchene sitch to sew up the two half. Happy Stitching!

Bon tricot!

COSTA/MAGLIA LEGACCIO (avanti e indietro): Lavorare tutti i ferri a diritto. Tutti i ferri a diritto,ok. Una costa in altezza= 2 ferri diritto, cosa vuol dire? Grazie
20.01.2021 - 21:14DROPS Design answered:

Bon tricot!

Knitted stole in DROPS Brushed Alpaca Silk. The piece is worked with a leaf-pattern.
DROPS 211-3 |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||
------------------------------------------------------- EXPLANATIONS FOR THE PATTERN: ------------------------------------------------------- RIDGE/GARTER STITCH (worked back and forth): Knit all rows. 1 ridge in height = Knit 2 rows. PATTERN: See diagrams A.1 to A.4 (A.1 and A.2 for the rib). The diagrams show all the rows in the pattern seen from the right side. CASTING-OFF TIP: To avoid the cast-off edge being tight you can cast off with a larger size needle. If the edge is still tight, make 1 yarn over after approx. each 4th stitch at the same time as casting off and the yarn overs are cast off as normal stitches. ------------------------------------------------------- START THE PIECE HERE: ------------------------------------------------------- STOLE – SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE: The piece is worked back and forth in 2 parts, bottom up as far as the middle. The parts are then sewn together. STOLE – PART 1: Cast on, a little loosely, 129 stitches with circular needle size 4.5 mm and Brushed Alpaca Silk. Purl 1 row (= wrong side). The next row is worked as follows from the right side: Work 3 edge stitches in GARTER STITCH – read description above, work A.1 over the next 102 stitches (= 3 repeats of 34 stitches), A.2 (= 21 stitches) and finish with 3 edge stitches in garter stitch. Continue this rib and decrease as shown in the diagrams. When A.1 and A.2 have been completed there are 94 stitches on the needle and the piece measures approx. 5 cm in height. Change to circular needle size 5 mm and work the next row as follows from the right side: Work 3 edge stitches in garter stitch, A.3 over the next 75 stitches (= 3 repeats of 25 stitches), work A.4 (= 13 stitches) and finish with 3 edge stitches in garter stitch. Continue this pattern back and forth. REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION! When the piece measures approx. 74 cm change to circular needle size 4.5 mm. Knit 1 row from the wrong side, knit 1 row from the right side and knit 1 row from the wrong side. Read CASTING-OFF TIP and cast off with knit from the right side. The piece measures approx. 75 cm. PART 2: Work in the same way as part 1. ASSEMBLY: Sew parts 1 and 2 together in the middle – sew in the outermost loop of the outermost stitch so the seam is flat and make sure the seam is not tight. |
