Buon lavoro!

Cast on 80-88-96-104-116-128 sts (incl 1 edge st each side) on needle size 4 mm with 1 thread Alpaca + 1 thread Kid-Silk. Work rib as follows (1st row = RS): 1 edge st which is worked K on all rows, * P 2, K 2 *, repeat from *-* until 3 sts remain, finish with P 2 and 1 edge st which is worked K on all rows. When rib measures 4 cm, switch to needle size 5 mm. Continue in stocking st and edge st as before – AT THE SAME TIME on 1st row dec 10-12-12-12-14-16 sts evenly = 70-76-84-92-102-112 sts. REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION! When piece measures 10 cm, dec 1 st in each side. Repeat dec every 3 cm a total of 3 times = 64-70-78-86-96-106 sts. When piece measures 21-22-23-24-25-26 cm, inc 1 st in each side. Repeat inc every 4 cm a total of 4 times = 72-78-86-94-104-114 sts. When piece measures 39-40-41-42-43-44 cm, cast off for armholes at the beg of every row in each side as follows: 3 sts 1-1-1-1-2-2 times, 2 sts 0-1-2-3-3-4 times and 1 st 2-2-3-4-4-5 times = 62-64-66-68-72-76 sts. When piece measures 56-58-60-62-64-66 cm, cast off the middle 26-28-28-28-30-30 sts for neck. Finish each shoulder separately. Continue to cast off 1 st on next row from neck = 17-17-18-19-20-22 sts remain on the shoulder. Cast off when piece measures 58-60-62-64-66-68 cm. LEFT FRONT PIECE: Worked back and forth on needle. Cast on 44-48-52-56-60-68 sts (incl 1 edge st in the side and 5 band sts towards mid front) on needle size 4 mm with 1 thread Alpaca + 1 thread Kid-Silk. Work as follows from the side (1st row = from RS): 1 edge st which is worked K on all rows, * K 2, P 2 *, repeat with *-* until 7 sts remain, finish with K 2 and 5 band sts which are worked K on all rows. When rib measures 4 cm, switch to needle size 5 mm. Continue in stocking st and work band sts and edge st as before – AT THE SAME TIME on 1st row dec 4-5-5-5-4-7 sts evenly (do not dec over bands) = 40-43-47-51-56-61 sts. When piece measures 7 cm, work next row from RS as follows: Work 9-10-11-13-15-18 sts, slip the next 18-18-20-20-22-22 sts on 1 stitch holder (= pocket), cast on 18-18-20-20-22-22 new sts over stitch holder and work the rest of row (= 13-15-16-18-19-21 sts). Continue as before. When piece measures 10 cm, beg dec in the side as on back piece. When piece measures 21-22-23-24-25-26 cm, start inc in the side as on back piece. After all dec and inc there are 41-44-48-52-57-62 sts on the needle. When piece measures 39-40-41-42-43-44 cm, cast off for armhole in the side as on back piece = 36-37-38-39-41-43 sts. When piece measures 51-53-55-57-59-61 cm, slip the outermost 11-12-12-12-13-13 sts towards mid front on 1 stitch holder for neck (work them before slipping them on the stitch holder). Then cast off at beg of every row from neck: 2 sts 2 times and 1 st 4 times = 17-17-18-19-20-22 sts remain on shoulder. Continue to work until piece measures 58-60-62-64-66-68 cm, cast off. POCKET: Slip the 18-18-20-20-22-22 sts from stitch holder back on needle size 5 mm. Work in stocking st back and forth with 1 edge st in each side which is worked K on all rows. When pocket measures approx. 12-12-13-13-14-14 cm (adjust so that next row is from WS), K 1 row from WS. Then work next row as follows from RS: K 8-8-9-9-10-10, K 2 tog, 1 YO (= buttonhole), K 8-8-9-9-10-10. K 1 row from WS. Switch to needle size 4 mm and 1 thread Kid-Silk. K 2 sts in every st - AT THE SAME TIME make 1 YO after every 2 st = 53-53-59-59-65-65 sts. P 1 row from WS, and then cast off with K from RS. Sew pocket on to front piece, in each side – sew in edge st. Sew opening tog in bottom edge from WS on the back of pocket. RIGHT FRONT PIECE: Cast on and work as left front piece but reversed. When sts for pocket are to be slipped on 1 stitch holder, this is done as follows (from RS): Work 13-15-16-18-19-21 sts, slip the next 18-18-20-20-22-22 sts on 1 stitch holder, cast on 18-18-20-20-22-22 new sts over stitch holder and work the rest of row (= 9-10-11-13-15-18 sts). When piece measures 15-15-15-16-16-16 cm, cast off for BUTTON HOLES - see explanation above! SLEEVE: Worked back and forth on needle. Cast on 46-46-50-50-54-54 sts (incl 1 edge st each side) on needle size 4 mm with 1 thread Alpaca + 1 thread Kid-Silk. Work rib = K 2/P 2 with 1 edge st in each side which is worked K on all rows. When rib measures 4 cm, switch to needle size 5 mm. Continue in stocking st – AT THE SAME TIME on 1st row dec 4 sts evenly = 42-42-46-46-50-50 sts. When piece measures 10-10-10-12-12-12 cm, inc 1 st in each side. Repeat inc every 4½-3½-3½-2½-2½-2 cm a total of 9-11-11-13-13-15 times = 60-64-68-72-76-80 sts. When piece measures 49-48-47-46-45-44 cm (shorter measurements in the larger sizes because of longer sleeve cap and broader shoulder width) cast off for sleeve cap at beg of every row in each side: 3 sts 1 time, 2 sts 3 times, 1 st 0-1-2-3-4-5 times and then 2 sts in each side until piece measures 55 cm. Now cast off 3 sts 1 time in each side. Cast off the remaining sts, the piece measures approx. 56 cm. FLOUNCE: Worked back and forth on circular needle. Knit up sts from RS in front loop of outermost st on right band. Knit up with 2 threads Kid-Silk on circular needle size 4 mm: 1 st in every row (i.e. 2 sts in every ridge (1 ridge = 2 rows in garter st)), cut the threads. Next row is also worked from RS but now with only 1 thread Kid-Silk. Separate every st into 2 sts, and work 1 st in every thread-loop, make in addition 1 YO after every other st. P next row from WS over all sts. Then cast off with K from RS. Work the same way along left front piece. ASSEMBLY: Sew the shoulder seams. NECK EDGE: Knit up approx. 80 to 95 sts around the neck (incl sts on stitch holders at the front) on circular needle size 4 mm with 1 thread Alpaca + 1 thread Kid-Silk. K 3 rows back and forth, cast off with K from RS. Sew in sleeves. Sew sleeve and side seams in one inside 1 edge st. Sew the small buttons on to left band – sew them inside the band (i.e. on WS), so that the edges in flounce are visible when the jacket is buttoned. Sew 1 large button on each front piece to match the button holes on the pockets. |
