Garter st, back and forth on needle: K all rows. Garter st, in the round: K 1 round, P 1 round. Buttonholes: Cast off for buttonholes on right front band. 1 buttonhole = cast off 3rd st from mid front and cast on 1 new st on return row. Cast off for buttonholes when piece measures: Size S: 20, 29 and 38 cm. Size M: 20, 30 and 40 cm. Size L: 20, 27, 34 and 42 cm. Size XL: 20, 28, 36 and 44 cm. Size XXL: 20, 28, 37 and 46 cm. Size XXXL: 20, 28, 38 and 48 cm. Back piece: Cast on 62-66-70-75-81-87 sts (includes 1 edge st each side) on needle size 7 mm with Puddel. P 1 row from WS, and then work 6 rows garter st – see above. Continue in reverse stocking st with 1 edge st each side. Remember the knitting tension! When piece measures 10 cm dec 1 st each side, and repeat the dec on every 4.5-4.5-5-5-5-5 cm a total of 8 times = 46-50-54-59-65-71 sts. When piece measures 46-47-48-49-50-51 cm cast off for armhole each side at the beg of every row: 3 sts 1 time, 2 sts 1-1-1-2-3-4 times and 1 st 0-2-3-3-3-4 times = 36-36-38-39-41-41 sts. Continue until piece measures 63-65-67-69-71-73 cm and now cast off the middle 8-8-10-11-11-11 sts for neck. Dec 1 st on neckline on next row = 13-13-13-13-14-14 sts left on each shoulder. Cast off when piece measures 65-67-69-71-73-75 cm. Right front piece: Cast on 37-39-41-44-47-50 sts (includes 6 front band sts towards mid front and 1 edge st at side) on needle size 7 mm with Puddel. P 1 row from WS and then work 6 rows garter st. Continue in reverse stocking st with 6 garter sts towards mid front (= front band). When piece measures 10 cm dec at side as described for back piece = 29-31-33-36-39-42 sts. Remember to cast off for buttonholes – see above. Now read all of the following section before continuing! When piece measures 40-42-44-46-48-50 cm inc 1 st towards mid front on every 7 cm a total of 4 times. Work inc sts in garter st. At the same time when piece measures 42-44-46-47-49-50 cm incl 1 extra st in front band (i.e. no of sts remain the same, but no of garter sts inc and no of stocking sts dec) on every 5-5-4-3-3-3 cm a total of 5-5-6-7-7-7 times. At the same time when piece measures 46-47-48-49-50-51 cm cast off for armhole at side as described for back piece. When all inc for collar and dec for armhole are complete there are 28-28-29-30-31-31 sts on row (15-15-16-17-17-17 garter sts on front band and 13-13-13-13-14-14 stocking sts on shoulder). Continue until piece measures 65-67-69-71-73-75 cm. Cast off 13-13-13-13-14-14 sts for shoulder and work remaining sts on row = 15-15-16-17-17-17 sts on collar. Work shortened rows on collar sts as follows (first row = RS): * Work 2 rows garter st on 7-7-8-8-9-9 sts only, work 2 rows garter st on all sts *, repeat from *-* until collar measures 7-7-8-8-8-8 cm (measured where longest) from shoulder. Cast off loosely. Left front piece: Like right front piece, but mirrored and without buttonholes. Sleeves: Worked in the round on circular needle. Cast on 66-68-70-72-78-80 sts on small circular needle size 7 mm with Puddel. Insert 5 Marking Threads (MT) in piece with approx 13-13-14-14-15-16 sts between each. Work 16 rows garter st – see above – and continue in reverse stocking st. When piece measures 10 cm dec 1 st to the right and to the left alternately of all MT on every 11-11-11-10.5-10.5-10 cm a total of 4 times = 46-48-50-52-58-60 sts. When piece measures 47-47-47-46-45-43 cm –less on the larger sizes because of longer sleeve cap and wider shoulder - cast off 3 sts on each side of one of the MT (= mid under sleeve), and complete piece back and forth on needle. Cast off to shape the sleeve cap each side at the beg of every row: 2 sts 1 times, 1 st 2-3-3-4-5-6 times, then 2 sts each side until piece measures 55-56-56-57-57-58 cm, now cast off 3 sts each side 1 time and K all sts tog 2 by 2 on next row. Cast off remaining sts, piece measures approx 56-57-57-58-58-59 cm. Assembly: Sew shoulder seams. Sew side seams inside 1 edge st. Set in sleeves. Sew collar tog mid back and sew to neckline. Sew on buttons. |
