I think the tension is incorrectly translated and should be 36 sts in pattern (not in stockinette) and 24 sts in stockinette

Do the instructions: = "Slip the st which was made from the yo." indicate that the stitch should be dropped? I'm a bit vague on how to end up with 2 stitches.

Knitting Gauge: 36 sts x 30 rows on needles size 3mm in stocking sts. = 10 x 10 cm. Pattern: See diagram M.1. Diagram is shown from the right side. Decreasing tips (for the neck): Dec inside 4 sts (2 sts of garter sts and 2 sts of stocking sts) from the edge (seen from the right side). All decreases are done from the right side. Dec as follows after 4 edge sts: P2 tog. Dec as follows before 4 edge sts: P 2 sts tog into back of st. Front piece: Cast on 126-142-150-174-198 sts on needle size 3mm with Alpaca and P the 1st row from the wrong side. Knit next row as follows from the right side: 2 seam sts, M.1A over the next 120-136-144-168-192 sts, M.1B (=2 sts) and finish with 2 seam sts. Continue the pattern like this. When the piece measures 40-41-42-43-44 cm insert a marking thread at each side (marks the armhole). When the piece measures 42-44-45-47-48 cm bind off the centre 10-10-14-14-14 sts for neck. Continue to bind off at the neck side – see bind off tips above: On every other row: 1 st 2 times, and on every 4th row: 1 sts 8-8-9-9-9 times = 48-56-57-69-81 sts left for shoulder. The front piece is finished when the piece measures 56-58-60-62-64 cm. Insert a marking thread which marks the shoulders and continue to knit towards the back. When the piece measures 57-59-61-63-65 cm cast on new sts at the centre back on every other row as follows: 4 sts 2 times = 56-64-65-77-89 sts. Put the sts on a thread and repeat for the other side of the neck. Cast on 14-14-20-20-20 sts on the centre back between the 2 shoulder pieces = 126-142-150-174-198 sts. Continue as before. When the piece measures 16-17-18-19-20 cm from the marking thread, insert a new marking thread at each side ( marks the armhole). When the piece measures 56-58-60-62-64 cm from the marking thread on the shoulder P 1 row from the wrong side and bind off loosely from the right side. Assembly: Sew the side seams edge against edge in the outer part of the outermost st up to the marking thread which marks the armhole. Neck: Pick up approx 120 – 180 sts (divisible by 4) on a small circular needle size 3 mm with Alpaca. P 1 round and K 1 round. Continue with rib K2, P2. When the rib measures 2 cm K 1 round at the same time knit 2 sts for approx. every 6th sts on the round. K 2 rounds and bind off loosely – NB: To ensure the edge doesn't become too tight make a yo after every 6th st on round whilst binding off (knit and bind off the yo’s as sts). The neck edge should roll forward. |
