Bon crochet!

------------------------------------------------------- EXPLANATION FOR THE PATTERN: ------------------------------------------------------- PATTERN: See diagrams A.1 and A.2. Diagram shows colours in pattern. 1 square = 1 treble crochet. DOUBLE YARN TIP: Use yarn from both inside and outside of the ball. CROCHET INFO: Replace first treble crochet on round with 3 chain stitches, finish round with 1 slip stitch in third chain stitch. DECREASE TIP: Work every 14th and 15th treble crochet on round together as follows: Work 1 treble crochet but wait with last pull through (= 2 stitches on hook), then work next treble crochet but on last pull through, pull yarn through all 3 stitches on hook = 1 treble crochet decreased. REVERSED DOUBLE CROCHET: Work double crochet but work stitches backwards, i.e. from left to right. ------------------------------------------------------- START THE PIECE HERE: ------------------------------------------------------- BAG – SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE: Work in the round with 2 strands - read DOUBLE YARN TIP. Work 5 chain stitches with 2 strands off white on hook size 5 mm, and form a ring with a slip stitch in first chain stitch. Then work in the round, and work pattern according to A.1 (work 12 repetitions of A.1 in width). ROUND 1: Work 12 treble crochets in ring – read CROCHET INFO. ROUND 2: Work 2 treble crochets in every treble crochet = 24 treble crochets. REMEMBER THE CROCHET TENSION! ROUND 3: Work * 1 treble crochet in first treble crochet, 2 treble crochets in next treble crochet *, repeat from *-* the entire round = 36 treble crochets. ROUND 4: Work * 1 treble crochet in the first 2 treble crochets, 2 treble crochets in next treble crochet *, repeat from *-* the entire round = 48 treble crochets. ROUND 5-10: Continue with increases and pattern as before- i.e. on every round work 1 treble crochet more between every increase = 120 treble crochets. ROUND 11: Work last round in A.1 AT THE SAME TIME decrease 8 treble crochets evenly - read DECREASE TIP = 112 treble crochets. ROUND 12: Continue to work in the round with 1 treble crochet in every stitch and work according to A.2 (= 7 repetitions in width). When A.2 has been worked, work 1 round with 2 strands dark grey, work REVERSED DOUBLE CROCHETS - read explanation above. Cut and fasten the yarn. STRAPS: Cut 18 lengths of each colour of 120 cm = 36 strands. Place the strands together, make a knot, leave approx. 12 cm after knot. Distribute strands in 3 piles with 12 strands in each pile, 1 pile with off white, 1 pile with dark grey and 1 pile with mixed off white/dark grey. Plait the three piles together until plait measures approx. 68 cm. Divide strands into 2 piles. Thread the 2 halves through bag, 1 treble crochet apart, in third round from edge. Tie the tog into a knot on the front of bag. Take the knot at beg of plait and fasten the end to bag the same way but in the opposite side. Make another plait the same way and tie in the opposite side of bag – see picture. |
