Bon tricot!

Edge: Knit 3 cm stocking stitch, change to maroon, P1 round (= fold – work is measured from here), change to medium grey and work 3 cm stocking sts. Instead of 3cm edge, could it be 3'' or 2''.5 ? I always keep the edges to last... I am almost done, gorgeous pattern Thank you, Renée-Monique

Dear Mrs Martel, you can probably work the edge longer but 2,5 - 3 inches will be approx. 6 - 7 cm which is much larger/longer than on the picture. The edge are then folded along the folding row (the row purled from RS) so that it should be just 3 cm wide. Hope this helps. Happy knitting!

Vil bare få satt i gang.

Tension: 20 sts x 26 rows on needle size 4 mm and pattern = 10 x 10 cm. Needle size is only recommended! Pattern: See diagram (1 diagram = 1 repeat). Diagram is showing pattern from RS. Whole pattern works in stocking stitch. Mönster = Pattern 16 m = 16 sts Edge: Knit 3 cm stocking stitch, change to maroon, P1 round (= fold – work is measured from here), change to medium grey and work 3 cm stocking sts. Body: Knit in the round on circular needle and cut up for armhole and mid front afterwards. Cast on 198 (202-210) sts on circular needle size 2,5 mm with medium grey and knit Edge, expl above. Then change to circular needle size 4 mm, work in Pattern and at the same time inc 26 (38-46) sts evenly on round, and inc 5 sts mid front (these sts is to cut up in afterwards and should not be knitted into the pattern) = 224 (240-256) sts (+ 5sts mid front). Check your tension. Work Pattern. When piece measures 33 (32-32) cm inc 5 sts on each side (place the 5 cut up sts mid front - sts each side is to cut up for armhole afterwards and should not be knitted into the pattern) = 112 (120-128) sts (+ 5sts) front piece and 112 (120-128) sts back piece. When piece measures 55 (55-55) cm cast off the center 18 (20-20) sts (+ 5sts) front for neck and finished back and forth on needles. Continue cast off for neck on every other row: 3 sts 2 times, 2 sts 2 times. At the same time when piece measures 58 (58-58) cm cast off the center 34 (36-36) sts back for neck. Cast off 2 sts each side on next row towards neck. Cast off when piece measures 60 (60-60) cm (adjust to pattern). Sleeve: Cast on 48 (48-48) sts on double pointed needles size 2,5 mm with medium grey and knit Edge, expl above. Then change to double pointed needles size 4 mm, work Pattern (place a repeat mid on sleeve) and at the same time inc 4 (6-8) sts evenly on first round = 52 (54-56) sts. At the same time after edge inc 2 sts mid under sleeve 28 (29-28) times on every 3rd round = 108 (112-112) sts. At the same time when piece measures 42 (41-40) cm slip 6 sts mid under sleev on a thread or stitch holder and finishe back and forth on ´needles. Slip additional 5 sts each side on thread on every other row 7 times, piece measures approx 48 (47-46) cm. Put all sts back on needle and knit 2 cm reversed stocking sts with grey (as edge over the cutting edge on body), cast off. Assembly: Sew in a marking thread (MT) down the middle of inc sts each side and mid front. Sew two seams on sewing machine round MT, 1st seam = 1/2 st from the thread, 2nd seam = 1/2 st from first seam. Cut up to armhole and mid front. Sew shoulder seams. Pick up approx 110-120 sts along left front piece on circular needle size 2,5 mm with medium grey and knit Edge back and forth on needle, cast off. Repeat along right front piece, but after 1 cm make 5-6 buttonholes evenly distributed on row. 1 button hole = cast off 2 sts and cast on 2 new sts over these on next row (Remember button holes also after the fold). Pick up approx 100-106 sts around the neckline on double pointed needles size 2,5 mm with medium grey and knit Edge back and forth on needle, cast off. Sew sleeves onto body from RS as follows: Sew alternately 1 stitch in last round on sleeve before edge and one stitch on Body after machine seam. Turn sweater WS out and sew edge from sleeve over cutting edge on Body by hand. Fold all edges double towards WS and sew. |
