At this point: dec 3-0-6-3-0 sts evenly = 81-90-90-99-108 sts. What do the numbers mean. First time I have come across instructions like this. What sort of decrease and when please?
07.05.2020 - 12:24DROPS Design answered:
Dear Marion, as for the number of stitches to cast on, each number refers to its size in the same order, ie in 1st size decrease 3 sts evenly = 81 sts remain, in the 2nd size no decrease = 90 sts; in the 3rd size, decrease 6 sts evenly = 90 sts remain etc.. Read more here how to decrease evenly. Happy knitting!

Hi! I’m to the part where I switch to the A.2 chart, and I’m confused. The initial cast on stitches are divisible by 6, but not by 9. So how does the A.2 section work if I can't divide my stitches up into 9 sections? I modified the pattern to use worsted yarn and size 7 needles, and I CO 66 stitches. I thought this would work since all the sizes in the pattern involved casting on a multiple of 6. Thanks for your help!
12.10.2019 - 01:03DROPS Design answered:
Dear Erin, when piece measures 7-8-9-10-12 cm, you decrease 3-0-6-3-0 sts = 81-90-90-99-108 sts remain = number of sts is now divisible by 9. Then you work A.2 over all stitches. Happy knitting!

So sorry if this was asked already but when you say 'when piece measures [3 1/2"], is this from cast on? or the start of the A1? I did it at the cast on but it seems short for a kid size so now i'm rethinking what I did. I'm making the 5/6 size. Thanks!
03.10.2019 - 16:07DROPS Design answered:
Hello Lindsay! As it says in the pattern you have to measure after rolling edge. Happy knitting!

How do I make the "leaves'" / green part at the top of beanie look puffed up. Mine is flat.

Dear Mrs Ritchey, it's a bit tricky to answer you here, you might have to try with larger needles. Do not hesitate to bring your work to your store (or send them a picture per mail), they would be able to help you. Happy knitting!

PATTERN: See diagrams A.1 and A.2. Pattern in diagrams are seen from RS. ---------------------------------------------------------- HAT: Cast on 84-90-96-102-108 sts with orange on double pointed needles or circular needle size 3.5 mm. P 1 round, then work in stocking st. Remember the knitting tension! When piece measures 6 cm, insert 1 marker (= rolling edge), now measure the piece from here and work according to diagram A.1. When piece measures 7-8-9-10-12 cm, dec 3-0-6-3-0 sts evenly = 81-90-90-99-108 sts. Then insert 9-10-10-11-12 markers in the piece 9 sts apart. First st after first marker = first st in A.2. Now work A.2, but continue with K and P as in A.1 in the orange section. After A.2 work with forest green until finished - AT THE SAME TIME dec every other round: 1 st on right side of all markers until 9-10-10-11-12 sts remain on needle. Switch to double pointed needles size 2 mm and work 3 cm over these sts for stem. Pull yarn through the remaining sts and fasten. |
