K 2, P 6, then K 2 in each of the next 2 sts (= K 4), * P 6, K 2 * ... I am confused. K 2 in each of the next two stitches. The next two stitches are P's.

Dear Cindy, "K2 in each of the next 2 sts" means you have to work the next sts twice knitwise, you will then have K4 above the next 2 sts. Happy knitting!

PATTERN: See diagram A-1. Diagram shows 1 repetition of pattern. DECREASE TIP: Dec alternately at beg and end of every P-section by P 2 tog. HEEL DECREASE: Row 1 (= RS): K until 8 sts remain, slip 1 st as if to K, K 1, psso, turn piece. Row 2 (= WS): P until 8 sts remain, slip 1 st as if to P, P 1, psso, turn piece. Row 3 (= RS): K until 7 sts remain, slip 1 st as if to K, K 1, psso, turn piece. Row 4 (= WS): P until 7 sts remain, slip 1 st as if to P, P 1, psso, turn piece. Continue dec like this with 1 st less before every dec until there are 12-12-14 sts on needle. ---------------------------------------------------------- SOCK: Worked in the round on double pointed needles. Cast on 80 sts for all sizes on double pointed needles size 3 mm with Karisma. Work rib = K 2/P 2 for 5 cm. Switch to double pointed needles size 3.5 mm and continue as follows: ** K 2, P 6, then K 2 in each of the next 2 sts (= K 4), * P 6, K 2 *, repeat from *-* a total of 3 times, P 6 **, half the sts have been worked, repeat from **-** one more time = 84 sts. Continue as follows: * Diagram A-1 (= 20 sts), insert a marker in the middle of the 2 middle sts – see arrow in diagram (= mid back), P 6, K 2, P 6, K 2, P 6 *, repeat from *-* 1 more time (next marker is mid front). Continue like this until piece measures 15 cm. On next round dec 1 st in each of the 6 P-sections between A-1 = 78 sts. Repeat dec every 6-6-8 cm 3-3-2 more times – READ DECREASE TIP! There are now 2-2-3 P sts in the 6 P-section between A-1 and 60-60-66 sts in total. Continue with A-1 and K over K and P over P in the sides until piece measures 40-42-44 cm – on last round work until 4-4-5 sts before beg of round. Now keep the first 28-28-30 sts on needle for heel (= A-1 + 4-4-5 sts on each side of these) and slip the remaining 32-32-36 sts on a stitch holder (= mid on top of foot). Continue in pattern as before over heel sts for 5-5½-6 cm – AT THE SAME TIME on last row (= WS), dec 2 sts evenly over A-1 = 26-26-28 sts remain on needle. Insert a marker, measure foot from here. Then work HEEL DECREASE in stocking st over all sts - see explanation above! After heel dec, knit up 11-12-13 sts along each side of heel and slip the 32-32-36 sts from stitch holder back on needle = 66-68-76 sts. Insert a marker on each side of the 32-32-36 sts on top of foot. Continue pattern as before over these sts and stocking st over the other sts – AT THE SAME TIME K the last 2 sts BEFORE first marker on top of foot twisted tog and K tog the first 2 sts AFTER second marker on top of foot. Repeat dec every other round 9-8-10 more times = 46-50-54 sts. Continue as before until piece measures 18-20-22 cm from marker on heel (= approx. 4-4-5 cm remain) - AT THE SAME TIME on last round dec 2 sts evenly over A-1 = 44-48-52 sts. Insert a marker in each side so that there are 22-24-26 sts both on top of foot and under foot. Continue working stocking st over all sts while AT THE SAME TIME dec for toes on each side of both markers as follows: Work until 2 sts remain before marker, K 2 tog, marker, then K 2 twisted tog. Repeat dec every other round 3-3-4 more times and then every round 5-6-6 times = 8 sts remain on needle. Cut the thread and pull it through the remaining sts, tighten tog and fasten. |
