Crochet: Diagram A.1, A.2 and A.3 in DROPS 157-18

In this DROPS video we show you how to work charts A.1, A.2 and A.3 for the jacket in DROPS 157-18. We begin with the first row and work as follows from RS: Work A.1 over the first 8 ch, A.2 over the next 12 ch, A.3 over the next ch 5, 1 dc in each of the next 4 ch, A.1, A.2 and A.3. Hereafter we work one repeat of A.Z vertically including how to replace the dc’s in first row of A.Z from WS. We fast forward second repeat of the patterns on the row. Hallo Rebecca, Toer 2 t/m 5 herhaal je steeds in de hoogte, dit is A.z Er staan inderdaad driedubbele stokjes in het telpatroon. Hoe je deze maakt, staat uitgelegd bij de symbolen boven het telpatroon. Wat bedoel je precies met de strepen?

I am so confused. I have done the row one, done rown two now working on row three. I get to where I have 7 double crochets not sure what to do next. So i have 9 on one row next row 7 what do I need to do on the next row. The problems with confusion is when one come to the section of the stripe. There is no diagram.

When you do the 9 dc, the on the second row it calls for 7 dc but does not explain on what you do with the extra 2 dc, it doesn't show this in the diagram. The video scrambles on me and I can not view it. I read patterns all the time but this one has thrown me so. The diagram is easy to read.

Dear Mrs Terronez, on 1st row in A.z (= 2nd row from the bottom of diagram), you will crochet over the 9 dc: 3 ch (= replace 1tr), 7 dc, and 3 ch (replace 1 tr) - see also NOTE under back piece in written pattern. Happy crocheting!

I am stuck on the second row after I do the first A.3 through A.1 when i crochet the 11 single crochets what does it mean after crocheting the 11 dc it has 3ch(replace1dc) am I supposed to ch 3 there? then it has 1sc next st . Then if I start at A.3 again that puts me on top of second chain before the end of 13 dc below. FORGET THE ABOVE I AM JUST LOST ON 1ST ROW IN A.z IT COMES OUT OK ON THE FIRST A.3 THRU A.1 THEN I GET LOST ON THE DC BELOW thank you for your help. Betty Johnson

Dear Mrs Johnson, on 1st row in A.z (= from WS), work A.3, A.2 2 times in width, A.1, 3 ch (replace 1 dc), 1 dc in each of the next 9 dc, 3 ch (replace 1 dc), 1 sc in next st, then start diagram again with: A.3 (= 5 ch), A.2, A.1, 3 ch (replace 1 dc), 1 dc in each of the next 9 dc, 3 ch (replace 1 dc), 1 sc in next st, A.3, A.2 2 times in width and A.1. So that over the 11 dc between diagrams you will now work 3 ch, 1 sc in first of the 11 dc, 9 dc, 3 ch, 1 sc in the last of 11 dc (= the first and last 3 ch replace here each 1 dc). Happy crocheting!
