How to crochet a flower square
Ch 8 with hook size 3.5 mm/E/4 and Kid-Silk and form a ring with 1 sl st in first ch.
ROUND 1: ch 3 (= 1 dc), * ch 2, 1 dc in ring *, repeat from *-* a total of 7 times and finish with ch 2 and 1 sl st in 3rd ch from beg of round (= 8 dc on round with ch 2 between each).
ROUND 2: 4 tr (replace first tr on round with 4 ch) in first ch space, * ch 2, 4 tr in next ch space *, repeat from *-* a total of 7 times and finish with ch 2 and 1 sl st in 4th ch from beg of round.
ROUND 3: * 4 tr crochet tog – SEE ABOVE (replace first tr on round with ch 4 – NOTE: work 1 tr in each tr from previous round), ch 6, 1 dc round the ch 2 from previous round, ch 6 *, repeat from *-* a total of 8 times and finish with 1 sl st at the top of first tr-group.
ROUND 4: Crochet sl sts to the middle of first ch space, ch 1, 1 sc in ch space, * ch 5, 1 sc in next ch space, ch 5, 1 dc in next ch space, ch 10, 1 dc in next ch space (= corner), ch 5, 1 sc in next ch space *, repeat from *-* a total of 3 times, then ch 5, 1 sc in next ch space, ch 5, 1 dc in next ch space, ch 10, 1 dc in next ch space (= corner), ch 5, finish with 1 sl st in first sc from beg of round.
