Hei Hannah. Når man legger opp med 2 tråder gjøres dette for blant annet for å få en litt tyngde på plagget eller mer elastisk eller for å få en litt løsere avfelling, men alt avhenger av hvilket garn man strikker med. mvh DROPS Design

Dag Joke,

In het patroon staat aangegeven of je de eerste naald recht of averecht moet breien (vaak is dat bij boordsteek wel het geval) of dat je gelijk kunt beginnen met het patroon. Het voordeel van het opzetten met 1 draad is dat je niet een inschatting hoeft te maken hoeveel opzetdraad je nodig hebt.

How to work a diagonal shoulder, cast on stitches for the neckline and work the back piece together

In this DROPS video, we show you how to work each front piece with diagonal shoulders and short rows, the piece is worked bottom up. Then we show how to increase stitches for the neckline and join the shoulders for the back piece, then continue working top down. An I-cord band is worked on each side. We have already worked one section of the front piece and decreased stitches for the neckline. The video shows how we work 6 short rows (German short rows) on the right front piece, creating a diagonal shoulder. Then we show how to increase 1 stitch 3 times towards the neckline, which is now the back piece. Then we show the same for the left shoulder and finally cast on 12 stitches between the shoulders before the shoulders are knitted together. We use the yarn DROPS Snow in the video. This technique is used among other things in pattern DROPS 255-9, Driftwood Vest, with a different stitch count, number of short rows and cast-on stitches. In this DROPS video we show how you can cast on with two circular needles. We sometimes recommend this in our patterns to prevent the cast on edge being too tight. When you have cast on the required number of stitches, you pull out one circular needle and start to knit. In this video, we cast on with needle 7 and 8 = US 10,75 and US 11, and it is needle 8 = US 10,75 that we pull out. We use the yarn DROPS Snow in the video.
