Edge stitches in slip st, chain edge

When knitting a piece you have 1 stitch in each side of your work that is an edge stitch.
The edge stitch are usually not included in the pattern, and there are different ways to work the edge stitches. This depends on what kind of edge it is, if it will be sewn later like a side seam, if it will be open like on a scarf or a front edge of a jacket.

Slip st edge / chain edge - this is great when you want a nice and decorative edge, like on a scarf or a front edge on a jacket. To get this nice looking twisted slip st along the edge, on every row you slip the 1st stitch as if you would knit it, and you purl the last st on every row.

It would help if the difficult parts were shown slower ( I know I can change the speed of the video, but it disrupts the flow and I have to put down my work when trying to follow the video). I had a hard time following the thread, how it was pulled in different diretions and throught the loops. I didn't get this.

Hej Susanne, Du kan altid strikke kantmasken som de andre masker på pinden, eller så strikker du dem ret på den ene pind og vrang på den anden. God fornøjelse!

Hei Yvonne. Litt usikker på hva du mener med kantmaske mot halsen. Mot halsen har du som regel en vrangbord som felles av. Da feller man som regel av rett over rett og vrang over vrang. Videoen viser en kantmaske/sidene på et arbeid. mvh Drops design

Bonjour Marie Gil, pour des mailles lisières glissées sur du jersey, tricotez la dernière m du rang sur l'endroit à l'endroit et la dernière m du rang sur l'envers à l'envers - la 1ère maille est toujours glissée, sur l'endroit et sur l'envers. Bon tricot!

Als u in tricotsteek breit, krult het werk altijd een beetje. Daarom breien we boorden onderaan truien.
