Pattern instructions

NOTE: This pattern is written in American English. All measurements in charts are in cm. For conversion from inches to cm - click here. There are different terms for crocheting in American and British English. If this pattern includes crochet, click for "crochet terms" here. For this pattern in British English, please click here.

Replace first double crochet at beginning of every row with 3 chain stitches. Finish row with 1 double crochet in 3rd chain stitch from beginning of previous row.

See diagrams A.1 and A.2.

To get the correct measurement on hair band measure the circumference of the head. Then subtract approx. 8 cm / 3 1/8'' from this measurement = measurement for hair band.

Worked in 2 parts. First work a ribbon back and forth with lace pattern. Sew ribbon together mid front. Then work a small ribbon with double crochets and tie this around the hair band mid front.

Work 17 chain stitches on hook size 3 mm / C with BabyMerino. Work first row as follows: Work 2 double crochets + 3 chain stitches + 2 double crochets in 8th chain stitch from hook, * skip 2 chain stitches, work 2 double crochets + 3 chain stitches + 2 double crochets in next chain stitch *, work from *-* one more time, skip 2 chain stitches and finish with 1 double crochet in last chain stitch.
Then work back and forth as shown in A.1, i.e. repeat 2nd and 3rd row until piece measures approx. 48-52 cm/19"/20½" from cast-on edge - read MEASURING TIP. Then work 4th row as shown in A.1.
Sew hair band together with 1 stitch in every stitch = mid front.

Work 4 chain stitches on hook size 3 mm / C, then work 1 double crochet in 4th chain stitch from hook = 2 double crochets. Read CROCHET INFO and work A.2 back and forth up to A.X. Repeat A.X 3 times in total vertically (= 6 rows), then work A.2. Fasten off.
Tie ribbon around hair band mid front so that the seam is hidden.

All measurements in charts are in cm.

= 1 chain stitch
= this row is explained in pattern and has already been worked
= single crochet around chain space
= 1 double crochet in stitch
= 1 double crochet in 3rd chain stitch from beginning of previous row
= 3 chain stitches
= 5 chain stitches
= 2 double crochets + 3 chain stitches + 2 double crochets in stitch
= 2 double crochets + 3 chain stitches + 2 double crochets around chain space
= arrow points towards stitch to be worked in
= work the last 2 double crochets on row together as follows: Work 1 double crochet in next double crochet but wait with last yarn over and pull through, work 1 double crochet in 3rd chain stitch from beginning of previous row but now pull last yarn over through all 3 loops on hook

I've looked various times for the diagrams. They are not on the bottom of the web page nor are they located on the bottom of the printed pattern. I've used your patterns in the past to crochet shirts and the diagrams were located on both the web page and printed pattern. I am using Google Chrome to view the page. Thanks in advance!!

Dear Mrs Huie-Eisenhauer, I'm right now on Chrome and can see as well as print whole pattern and diagrams from the US as well as from the UK-English pattern page. Try to clean the cache, there may be anything avoiding you to see diagrams for any reason, close and reopen our website, you should be able to see and print the whole pattern including diagram (when printing make sure to print all pages and not select only some of them to get all pages printed). Happy crocheting!

Can someone please tell me how to find the diagrams for this pattern and others? They used to be on the last page of the pattern. Thanks, Angie Huie-Eisenhauer

Dear Mrs Huie-Eisenhauer, you will find diagrams at the very bottom of the page, under the written pattern. Happy crocheting!
