BODY:

HAT:
Switch to light beige and K 1 round. Work next round as follows: P 8, K 5, turn (NOTE: Tighten yarn when turning to avoid hole), P 5, turn and P the last 12 sts on round. Work 1 ridge. Switch to deep red and K 1 round. On next round, dec 1 st at beg of every double pointed needle by K the first 2 tog (= 4 sts dec) = 16 sts. Repeat dec on every 8th round until 4 sts remain. Cut the yarn and pull it through the remaining sts, tighten tog and fasten.

POMPOM AND NOSE:
Make 1 mini pompom as follows: Twine a strand of light beige approx. 7 times around 3 fingers, tie a strand firmly around the middle. Cut on loops in each side so that the pompom measures approx. 1½ cm in diameter. Fasten it at the top of hat and fasten it in addition to the side of hat with a small stitch. Fasten a wooden ball as nose under the edge of hat, where you worked back and forth. Fill the top of hat with some left-over yarn and pull Santa over a wine cork.

SANTA:
Work the same way as female Santa but switch the colour on body. Work entire hat in deep red.
Beard: Cut a strand of light beige of approx. 7 cm and pull it around a st at the bottom edge of the light beige edge under nose - let the yarn end hang loosely on each side of st. Fasten 2 more strands the same way. Separate the yarnends to make the beard fluffy and cut the beard to desired length.
