CROCHET INFO:
Work 1 ch at beg of every round with sc. Finish every round with 1 sl st in ch from beg of round.
----------------------------------------------------------

HAT:
First work a square back and forth from corner to corner, then work a top in the round.

Work 3 ch on hook size 3 mm / C with red.
ROW 1 (= RS): Work 2 sc in 2nd ch from hook, 1 sc in last ch = 3 sc. Turn.
ROW 2 (= WS): Work ch 1, 2 sc in first sc, 1 sc in front loop of next sc, 2 sc in last sc = 5 sc. Turn.
ROW 3 (= RS): Work ch 1, 2 sc in first sc, 1 sc in back loop of every sc until 1 sc remains on previous row, 2 sc in last sc. Turn.
ROW 4 (= WS): Work ch 1, 2 sc in first sc, 1 sc in front loop of every sc until 1 sc remains on previous row, 2 sc in last sc. Turn.
Repeat 3rd and 4th row until piece measures 19-21-23-(21-23) cm / 7½"-8 1/4"-9" (8 1/4"-9") along each short side, adjust so that next row is from WS. REMEMBER THE CROCHET GAUGE!

Now continue to work with dec and inc as follows:
ROW 1: (= WS) Work ch 1, 2 SC TOG – read explanation above (= 1 dec), 1 sc in front loop of every sc until 1 sc remains on previous row, work 2 sc in last sc (= 1 inc). Turn.
ROW 2: (= RS) Work ch 1, 2 sc in first sc (= 1 inc), 1 sc in back loop of every sc until 2 sc remain on previous row, 2 sc tog (= 1 dec). Turn.
Repeat 1st and 2nd row - AT THE SAME TIME when 10 rows have been worked in total from dec beg, work stripes (1st row with stripes = WS) - READ STRIPE COLORS AND TIP FOR CHANGING YARN. Continue like this until piece measures 47-49-51-(50-53) cm / 18½"-19 1/4"-20" (19 3/4"-21") measured along inc side.
