See diagrams A.1 to A.3. Pattern is worked in stocking st.

Row 1 (= RS): Work until 7-7-8-8 sts remain, slip next st as if to K, K 1, psso, turn piece.
Row 2 (= WS): Work until 7-7-8-8 sts remain, slip next st as if to P, P 1, psso, turn piece.
Row 3 (= RS): Work until 6-6-7-7 sts remain, slip next st as if to K, K 1, psso, turn piece.
Row 4 (= WS): Work until 6-6-7-7 sts remain, slip next st as if to P, P 1, psso, turn piece.
Continue dec like this with 1 st less before every dec until there are 12-14-14-14 sts on needle.

K tog the last 2 sts before marker on mid on top of foot twisted (i.e. work in the back loop of st instead of front) and K tog the first 2 sts after last marker on top of foot.

Before marker: K 2 tog. After marker: K 2 twisted tog (i.e. work in back loop of st instead of front).

Worked in the round on double pointed needles. Cast on 64-64-68-68 sts on double pointed needles size 2.5 mm with light pearl grey. Work rib = K 2/P 2 for 4 cm. Switch to double pointed needles size 3.5 mm. Work 1 round in stocking st while AT THE SAME TIME dec 4-4-8-8 sts evenly = 60 sts. Work A.1. REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION! Then work A.2 - AT THE SAME TIME on first round of A.2 dec 4 sts evenly = 56 sts on needle. After A.2 work A.3 AT THE SAME TIME on first round dec 8-4-0-0 sts evenly = 48-52-56-56 sts. When A.3 has been worked, piece measures approx. 20 cm. Then work in stocking st with light pearl grey until finished measurements. When piece measures 23-24-25-26 cm, keep the first 12-13-14-14 sts on needle for heel, slip the next 24-26-28-28 sts on 1 stitch holder (= mid upper foot) and keep the last 12-13-14-14 sts on needle for heel. Continue in stocking st back and forth over the
24-26-28-28 heel sts for 5-5½-6-6½ cm. Insert 1 marker on heel. Then work HEEL DECREASE - see explanation above. After heel dec, pick up 11-12-13-14 sts on each side of heel and slip the 24-26-28-28 sts from stitch holder back on needle = 58-64-68-70 sts. Insert 1 marker on each side of the 24-26-28-28 sts on top of foot. Continue in stocking st in the round while AT THE SAME TIME dec in each side READ DECREASE TIP. Repeat dec every other round a total of 7-8-8-7 times = 44-48-52-56 sts. Continue until piece measures 18-20-22-25 cm from marker on heel (= approx. 4-4-5-5 cm remain). Insert 1 marker in each side so that there are 22-24-26-28 sts on top of foot and 22-24-26-28 sts under foot. Continue working in stocking st while AT THE SAME TIME dec for toes on each side of both markers - READ DECREASE TIP TOE! Repeat dec on every other round 4-4-5-5 times in total and then on every round 5-6-6-7 times in total = 8 sts remain on needle. Cut the yarn and pull it through the remaining sts. Tighten tog and fasten the yarn tightly.

Ming 21.11.2017 - 01:18:

Thanks for this lovely pattern! I just finished a pair and found that the pattern does not match up very well at the end of each round. What can I do to improve the continuity?

DROPS Design 21.11.2017 kl. 08:39:

Dear Ming, this video shows how to avoid jog when working stripes and can be adapted for fair isle patterns. Happy knitting!

Helena 07.06.2017 - 04:54:

Stephanie Bevis 19.03.2015 - 14:20:

Just love these socks - my first ever pair of handmade socks for myself... already not my last! Thank you Drops.

Merilyn 26.02.2015 - 20:16:

Koo 1 ring parempidises koes, SAMAL AJAL kahanda 4-4-8-8 s ühtlaste vahedega = 60 Kas SAMAL AJAL tähendab, et hakkan kohe selle ringi ajal kahandama, või koon enne ühe ringi parempidises koes ära ja hakkan alles siis kahandama?

DROPS Design 18.12.2015 kl. 12:13:

See tähendab, kahandama peab sel sama parempidisel real. Head kudumist!

Kristine Motrøen 29.12.2014 - 13:21:

Hei! Hilsen Kristine

DROPS Design 13.01.2015 kl. 14:28:

Hei Kristine.

DROPS Design 23.10.2014 kl. 11:32:

Hej Luab, Jo men A.3 viser 4 m (ikke 12m) i diagrammet og 52/4 = 13 gange ifølge diagrammet. God fornøjelse!

Marias 22.07.2014 - 23:29:

Buon lavoro!!

Mette Gøransson 18.06.2014 - 09:06:

Fine, de ønsker jeg meg!
