Fit glass vases with the following dimensions:
Circumference: approx. 44 - 57 cm / 17 1/4" - 22½''
Height: approx. 15 - 20 cm / 6" - 8"
The cover is worked approx. 10% shorter than the circumference around the vase, this is because the cover is stretched when it is used to fit tightly.

Pattern instructions

GARTER ST (back and forth on needle):
K sts on all rows.

See diagram A-1, diagram shows 1 repetition of pattern from RS.

Work alternately 2 rows with red/orange and 2 rows with candy.

Worked back and forth on needle.
LOOSELY cast on 34-50 sts on needle size 3.5 mm / US 4 with red/orange.
Work as follows (1st row = RS): 1 st in GARTER ST – see explanation above, diagram A-1 over the next 32-48 sts and 1 st in garter st.
Continue like this - while at the same time working STRIPES - see explanation above. REMEMBER THE GAUGE!
Work until piece measures approx. 40-52 cm / 15 3/4"- 20½" - stop after 1 row from RS with candy, then bind off with K from WS.
Sew cast on edge against bind off edge – sew edge to edge, st against st to avoid a visible seam.
