ROUNDS WITH SC AND CH:
Beg every round with sl sts until 1st ch, ch 1, 1 sc in same ch, * ch 1, 1 sc in next ch *. Repeat from *-*, finish with 1 sl st in 1st sc at beg of round.
NOTE! To get a nice color change work last sl st at the end of round with the new color. Continue on to next round with the new color.
STRIPES 1 (applies to large cover):
4 rounds beige brown
2 rounds orange
3 rounds dark old rose
3 rounds cerise
4 rounds denim blue
2 rounds navy blue
6 rounds beige brown
2 rounds orange
2 rounds dark old rose
3 rounds cerise
2 rounds denim blue
STRIPES 2 (applies to small cover):
4 rounds beige brown
2 rounds orange
2 rounds chocolate brown
4 rounds cerise
3 rounds dark old rose
5 rounds off white
3 rounds wine red
CROCHET TIP:
If you want a larger or smaller cover, adjust the circumference of the cover by adding or removing ch when ch-row is worked - no of ch added or removed should be divisible by 2 (1 sc and 1 ch).

LARGE COVER:
Worked in the round.
Loosely ch 102 with beige brown - READ CROCHET TIP, form a ring with 1 sl st in 1st ch.
Continue to work as follows: ch 1, 1 sc in 1st ch, * ch 1, skip ch 1, 1 sc in next ch *, repeat from *-* the entire round, finish with 1 ch and 1 sl st in 1st sc = 51 sc with 1 ch after every sc.
Then work STRIPES 1 and ROUNDS WITH SC AND CH - read explanation above. REMEMBER THE CROCHET GAUGE!
When STRIPES 1 has been worked, continue in the round with beige brown until piece measures approx. 19 cm / 7½'' vertically (approx. 1 cm / ½'' shorter than the height of the glass vase), fasten off.

SMALL COVER:
Worked in the round. Loosely ch 80 with beige brown - READ CROCHET TIP, form a ring with 1 sl st in 1st ch.
Continue to work as follows: ch 1, 1 sc in 1st ch, * ch 1, skip next ch, 1 sc in next ch *, repeat from *-* the entire round, finish with 1 ch and 1 sl st in 1st sc = 40 sc with 1 ch after every sc.
Then work STRIPES 2 and ROUNDS WITH SC AND CH - read explanation above.
When STRIPES 2 has been worked, continue in the round with beige brown until piece measures 14 cm / 5½'' vertically (approx. 1 cm / ½'' shorter than the height of the glass vase), fasten off.

Dear Edith, you work 1 sc in ch from previous row and 1 ch over the sc from previous row - see video below where pattern is worked back and forth. Happy crocheting!
