Crochet DROPS Santa in "Cotton Viscose" to hang on the Christmas tree.

50 g color no 05, red
50 g color no 17, gold beige
50 g color no 01, white
Some black left-over yarn for eyes.

Some poly stuffing for filling

DROPS CROCHET Hook size 3 mm / C.

Pattern instructions

NOTE: This pattern is written in American English. All measurements in charts are in cm. For conversion from inches to cm - click here. CROCHET TIP:
Replace first sc at beg of each round with 1 ch and finish each round with 1 sl st in first ch from beg of round.

CROCHET 2 SC TOG:
Insert hook in sc and pull thread through, insert hook in next sc and pull thread through, make 1 yarn over and pull thread through all 3 loops on hook.

BODY:
Crochet 20 ch on hook size 3 mm / C with red and form a ring with 1 sl st in first ch.
ROUND 1: 20 sc in ch-ring – see CROCHET TIP!
ROUND 2-6: 1 sc in each sc.
ROUND 7: * 1 sc in each of the 2 first sc, crochet 2 sc tog * – see explanation above, repeat from *-* = 15 sc.
ROUND 8: * 1 sc in first sc, crochet 2 sc tog *, repeat from *-* = 10 sc.
ROUND 9: Crochet all sc tog 2 by 2 = 5 sc. Switch to gold beige and continue with the head.

HEAD:
ROUND 10: 2 sc in each sc = 10 sc.
ROUND 11: Inc 8 sc evenly = 18 sc.
ROUND 12-13: Work 1 sc in each sc.
Switch to red and continue with the hat.

HAT:
ROUND 14-16: 1 sc in each sc.
Put some poly stuffing in the head and hat.
Insert a marker in each side so that there are 9 sc both on the front and back of the hat.
Continue and work round in sc – AT THE SAME TIME crochet 2 sc tog after each marker on each round until there are only 4 sts left.
Continue to crochet a ch-string measuring approx. 12 cm / 4¾'', cut the thread and fasten the end of the string at the top of the hat to make a loop.

FACE:
Embroider on the eyes with black and the mouth with red.

SCARF: With white ch 34, turn and work 1 sc in each ch. Fasten off.

Bonjour Vanessa, le corps du bonhomme (en bas) se fait en rouge, le blanc que l'on voit devant, c'est son écharpe - si j'ai bien compris votre question. Bon crochet!

Arbeitsbeginn ist nicht weiß sondern rot. Tipp: statt Füllwatte für den Kopf nehme ich eine passende Styroporkugel (ist waschbar und gibt es sehr günstig z.B. bei Tedi). Das Gesicht wird damit sehr schön gefüllt, und die Mütze wirkt auch ohne Watte.
