Pattern instructions

NOTE: This pattern is written in American English. All measurements in charts are in cm. For conversion from inches to cm - click here. Pattern: See diagram M.1, M.2 and M.3.
Fan pattern (= M.2 and M.3) worked in stripes with 2 rows in the same color.

Crochet tip (apply to hat): Replace 1 tr with 4 ch and 1 sc with 1 ch at beg of round. Finish each round with 1 sl st in first sc/tr on round.

HAT:
Crochet 5 ch on crochet hook size 4.5 mm [US 7] with gray and form a ring with 1 sl st in first ch. See Crochet tip!
Round 1: 7 sc in ring.
Round 2: 2 sc in each sc = 14 sc.
Round 3: 2 tr in each sc = 28 tr.
Round 4: * 1 sc in first tr, 2 sc in next tr *, repeat from *-* = 42 sc.
Round 5: * 1 tr in each of the first 2 sc, 2 tr in next sc *, repeat from *-* = 56 tr.
Round 6: * 1 sc in each of the first 3 tr, 2 sc in next tr *, repeat from *-* = 70 sc.
Round 7: * 1 tr in each of the first 4 sc, 2 tr in next sc*, repeat from *-* = 84 tr.
Round 8: 1 sc in each tr, at the same time inc 4-12 sc evenly on round (work 2 sc in tr) = 88-96 sc.
Round 9: 1 tr in each sc.
Change to light gray and work 1 round with 1 sc in each tr.
Work next round as follows: 1 ch, 1 sc in the first sc, * skip 3 sc, 9 tr (= fan) in next sc, skip 3 sc, 1 sc in next sc *, repeat from *-*, but finish round with 1 sl st instead of 1 sc = 11-12 fans on round.
Continue in M.3 in stripes as follows:
2 rounds beige brown, 2 rounds light beige brown, 2 rounds gray, 2 rounds light gray and 2 rounds light beige brown = 6 rounds with Fan-pattern.
Change to light beige brown and work 1 round of pattern. Continue in Fans but work 11 tr instead of 9 tr in each Fan. Cut the thread and fasten, hat measures approx 22 cm [8 ¾”].

SCARF:
Crochet in 2 pieces, sewn tog afterwards.
Piece 1: Crochet 34 loose ch (includes 1 ch to turn with) with crochet hook size 4.5 mm [US 7] with gray.
Row 1: 1 sc in 2nd ch from hook, 1 sc in each of the next 2 ch, skip 1 ch, * 1 sc in each of the next 3 ch, 3 sc in next ch, 1 sc in each of the next 3 ch, skip 2 ch *, repeat from *-* 1 more time, 1 sc in each of the next 3 ch, 3 sc in next ch, 1 sc in each of the next 3 ch, skip 1 ch, 1 sc in each of the last 3 ch = 33 sc.
Continue in M.1 until piece measures approx 48 cm [19”] – adjust to a full repeat – and now continue in M.2 in stripes. After M.2 piece measures approx 60 cm [23 5/8”].

Piece 2: Like piece 1.

Assembly: Sew the 2 pieces tog in the middle – place them edge to edge and work 1 st in each st to avoid a chunky seam.

Vedr. Dit svar. Den forkommen mig lidt usammenhængende. Så jeg spørger igen. Du skriver:START hækler du 3 lm, 3st i hver fm ? Hvor mange fm? Senere skriver du 3 st i næste 3 st ? Det forstår jeg ikke. Da det jo er fm jeg hækler i. ? Mvh Charlotte

DROPS Design 08.03.2016 kl. 10:12:

Jo du har 33fm, hækler 1 dbl-st i hver af de første 3fm, * hopper over 1fm, 1 dbl-st i hver af de næste 3fm, 3 dbl-st i næste fm (den midterste af 9fm) 1 dbl-st i hver af de næste 3fm, hopper over 1fm*, således hækler du fra *-* 2 gange til og afslutter med 1 dbl-st i hver af de sidste 3fm. God fornøjelse!

Hej Drops Design . Mvh Charlotte

DROPS Design 11.02.2016 kl. 15:07:

Hej Charlotte. Du springer lm over i förste omg.

Lisa 04.01.2014 - 15:09:

Help Please, I got as far as completing the light grey round after 9 (the one with the fans) I can't figure out what to do for the next two rounds. do you have a written out pattern for the diagrams instead?

DROPS Design 06.01.2014 kl. 09:14:

Dear Lisa, for the hat, written pattern gives explanation to the row with a star, start with 2nd row, each st is explained under diagram text. When 2 symbols are in same direction, it means they will be crocheted in same place. Happy crocheting!

Hej!

ROSANNE - MALTA I got as far as round 9 , then did the light grey round, and the first round of fans, my hat looks like a doily not a hat and I did it perfectly and all the numbers match. I am stuck. Don't know what to do next.I got the same result like Patricia in your blog. Thanks.
