I am really confused by the star pattern at the beginning. I have watched your videos on it but the videos always show working the star pattern when you have already some more rows and stitches on the work. So when the star pattern is done, you work it on the chain three, but also have other stitches in which to pick up five from. How do you pick up five when you only have three chains on the row? I have tried and tried but cannot figure it out
05.02.2017 - 05:27DROPS Design answered:
Dear Mrs Selway, when crocheting 1st row on star pattern on the fundation chain, crochet 3 ch, then pick up 1 st in the 2nd + 3rd ch from hook, then pick up 1 st in the next 3 ch on fundation chain = 6 loops on hook. Happy knitting!

BOTH SIZES: Piece measures approx. 7-8 cm / 2 3/4"-3". Continue to work 1 sc in back loop of every sc until piece measures 18-19 cm / 7"-7½'' When I measure from center to edge I get 3". When I fold it in half an measure across I get 7 " Either way this is way too small for an adult hat. Should I keep increasing until I get the correct circumference?
21.12.2016 - 21:32DROPS Design answered:
Dear Sunny, remember to check and keep your tension, you should have 14 sc x 17 rows = 4"x4" - hat will be slightly tighter than the circumference of head so that it will keep on head. You can then adjust inc in width to fit the desired circumference. Happy crocheting!

06.12.2016 - 23:25DROPS Design answered:

Buon lavoro!
