I don’t understand the pattern when starting the heel flap. From the beginning , the patterns starts in the back section of the leg (not centered). But when I start doing the heel flap ( right after putting the 36 stitches on a stick holder), I’m not at the beginning of the row , making the flap not even on both sides of the heel?
17.10.2020 - 02:54DROPS Design answered:
Dear Stella, the heel will be worked over the 20-22-24 last stitches on the round (=8-10-12 sts in stocking st + 12 sts M.1) + the first 8-10-12 stitches on the round, the middle 36 sts are for mid upper foot = the 36 sts worked in pattern with M.1. The beginning of the round before heel was not in the middle of back piece, but between the middle back (M.1 over the last 12 sts) and the side (9-12-14 sts in stocking st). Happy knitting!

Buongiorno, i simboli del diagramma sono esatti? \0 non sognifica 1 gettato e 1 accavallata semplice ? E 0/ 2 m insieme e 1 gettato? Grazie

I'm trying to follow a sock pattern, I have trouble to understand this part: = slip 1 st as if to knit, K1, psso, 1 yo - I understand the "psso" as pass slipped stitch over, and yarn over, but is "1 yo" what made my confussion. Is this means k1 and yo? or what I do when said "1 yo"
01.05.2017 - 23:54DROPS Design answered:
Dear Mrs Pina, work as follows: slip 1 st as if to knit, K1, psso (= 1 st decreased) then make 1 yarn over (= 1 st increased). On next round, K the yarn over to make hole. Happy knitting!

Knitting Tension: 30 sts x 39 rows on needles size 2 mm in stocking st = 10 x 10cm. Pattern: See diagram M.1. The pattern diagram is seen from the RS. Decreasing for heel: 1st row (= RS): K until there are 8-9-10 sts left on row, slip next st, K1, psso, turn piece 2nd row (= WS): P until there are 8-9-10 sts left on row, slip next st, P1, psso, turn piece 3rd row (= RS): K until there are 7-8-9 sts left on row, slip next st, K1, psso, turn piece 4th row (= WS): P until there are 7-8-9 sts left on row, slip next st, P1, psso, turn piece Continue like this with 1 less st left before each dec until there are 14-16-18 sts left on row. SOCK Knitted round on double pointed needles from mid back. Cast on 66-72-75 sts on double pointed needle size 2 mm and knit 3 cm Rib *K1, P2*, repeat from *-*. Knit 1 round, at the same time inc 1 st in size 41/43 = 66-72-76 sts. Knit next round as follows: 9-12-14 sts in stocking st, M.1 on the next 36 sts, 9-12-14 sts in stocking st and M.1 on the next 12 sts. Continue in pattern like this until piece measures 5-6-7 cm. Now adjust no of sts by dec 1-2-2 sts evenly in both stocking st parts = 64-68-72 sts. Continue in pattern until piece measures 10-11-12 cm. Now keep the first 8-10-12 sts on needle, put the next 36 sts on a thread or a stitch holder (= M.1 3 times - mid upper foot) and keep the last 20-22-24 sts on needle = 28-32-36 sts for heel (insert a marking thread after 14-16-18 sts = mid back). Knit 5-5.5-6 cm stocking sts on heel sts and then dec for heel – see decreasing for heel above. After the heel dec pick up 15-16-18 sts on each side of the heel and put the 36 sts from the thread or stitch holder back on the double pointed needles = 80-84-90 sts. Continue in stocking sts on the first 22-24-27 sts, M.1 on the middle 36 sts and stocking sts on the remaining 22-24-27 sts. At the same time dec each side as follows: Knit the last 2 sts before the middle 36 sts mid upper foot twisted tog.(i.e knit into the back part of the sts instead of the front part) and knit the 2 first sts after the 36 sts tog. Dec on every other row a total of 12-11-11 times = 56-62-68 sts. Continue in pattern until piece measures 18-19-21 cm from MT on heel. Now insert a marking thread each side (28-31-34 sts between each MT). Continue in stocking sts on all sts and dec for toe on both sides of each marking thread as follows: K2 tog, MT, K2 tog twisted tog. Repeat the dec on every other round a total of 4-8-10 times and on every round a total of 7-4-2 times = 12-14-20 sts left. On next round knit all sts tog 2 by 2. Cut the thread and pull it through remaining sts. Sew tight. |
