Hallo!

Reihe weiter. Viel Spaß beim stricken!

When starting the heel flap, I keep the first 13-15-15 stitches and the last 13-15-15 stitches on needle for heel, slip the last 38-42-42 stitches on a stitch holder (= mid on top of foot). But than If I Continue A.1 back and forth over heel stitch, it doesn’t work since the first stitch is in the middle of the heal making it different each side of the heal stiches making it impossible to following the pattern in A1. How do I do this? Thanks for your help
09.01.2022 - 02:36DROPS Design answered:
Dear Estelle, A.1 was worked over the first 12-16 sts and the last 12-16 sts on the round, you keep for heel 1 stitch before the last 12-16 sts (= the last stitch in A.4) + 1 stitch after the first A.1 on the round (= the first st in A.2) which are both P1, increase 1 st on each side (= edge sts) and now continue working A.1 as before. Adjust so that the cable (1st row in A.1) will be worked from RS). Happy knitting!

At what point in the pattern do you do the second row of pattern A3 with the 34 stitches? The one where it’s only knit and purl stitches. It seams like it will make the pattern disalign between the purl and knit stitches. Thanks
24.12.2021 - 14:27DROPS Design answered:
Dear Estelle, you first work A.3 when the piece measures 4 cm, over 38 stitches. In the first row, you decrease to 34 stitches and, then, you work the second row of A.3. Afterward, you work A.5 over these 34 stitches. Happy knitting!

Your pattern does not have A.5 included with the rest of the diagrams.

Dear Mrs Wade, you will find diagram A.5 at the very bottom of the pattern, it is the last diagram worked over 34 sts. Happy knitting!

INFORMATION FOR PATTERN: PATTERN: See diagrams A.1 to A.6. Diagrams show all rows in pattern seen from the right side. HEEL DECREASE: ROW 1 (= right side): Knit until 7-8-8 stitches remain, slip next stitch as if to knit, knit 1, pass slipped stitch over stitch knitted, turn piece. ROW 2 (= wrong side): Purl until 7-8-8 stitches remain, slip next stitch as if to purl, purl 1, pass slipped stitch over stitch purled, turn piece. ROW 3 (= right side): Knit until 6-7-7 stitches remain, slip next stitch as if to knit, knit 1, pass slipped stitch over stitch knitted, turn piece. ROW 4 (= wrong side): Purl until 6-7-7 stitches remain, slip next stitch as if to purl, purl 1, pass slipped stitch over stitch purled, turn piece. Continue decrease like this with 1 stitch less before each decrease until there are 14-16-16 stitches on needle. DECREASE TIP (applies to toe): Begin 2 stitches before marker and knit 2 together, marker, slip 1 stitch knitwise, knit 1, pass slipped stitch over stitch worked (= 2 stitches decreased). ---------------------------------------------------------- SOCK: Worked in the round on double pointed needles. Cast on 68-76-76 stitches on double pointed needles size 2.5 mm with Fabel. Knit 1 round. Insert 1 marker thread at beginning of round = mid back. Work A.1 in the round (= 17-19-19 repetitions of 4 stitches). When piece measures 4 cm, work next round as follows: Continue A.1 over the first 12-16-16 stitches (= 3-4-4 repetitions of 4 stitches), work A.2 (= 3 stitches), A.3 (= 38 stitches decreased to 34 stitches), A.4 (= 3 stitches) and A.1 over the last 12-16-16 stitches (= 3-4-4 repetitions of 4 stitches) = 64-72-72 stitches on needle. Then work as follows: Continue A.1 over the first 12-16-16 stitches, A.2 (= 3 stitches), work A.5 (= 34 stitches), continue A.4 (= 3 stitches) and continue A.1 over the last 12-16-16 stitches. REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION! When piece measures 12-14-16 cm, keep the first 13-15-15 stitches and the last 13-15-15 stitches on needle for heel, slip the last 38-42-42 stitches on a stitch holder (= mid on top of foot). Continue A.1 back and forth over heel stitches and cast in addition on 1 edge stitch in each side on first row = 28-32-32 stitches. When heel measures 5-5½-6 cm, cast off 1 edge stitch in each side = 26-30-30 stitches. Insert 1 marker in middle of needle. Now work HEEL DECREASE - see explanation above. After heel decrease, pick up 13-14-16 stitches on each side of heel - pick up inside 1 edge stitch on each side of heel and slip the 38-42-42 stitches from stitch holder back on needle = 78-86-90 stitches. Insert 1 marker on each side of the 38 stitches on top of foot (in all sizes). Continue in the round with A.5 as before over the middle 34 stitches on top of foot and A.6 (= 2 stitches) on each side of A.5, work the remaining stitches in stocking stitch. AT THE SAME TIME decrease in each side as follows: Knit the last 2 stitches before first marker on top of foot together and knit the first 2 stitches after last marker on top of foot twisted together. Decrease like this every other round 8-10-10 times in total = 62-66-70 stitches. Work until piece measures 18-19-21 cm from marker on heel (= 4-5-6 cm remain until finished measurements). Knit 1 round while at the same time decrease 10 stitches evenly over A.5 and A.6 = 52-56-60 stitches. Insert 1 marker in each side so that there are 26-28-30 stitches both on top of foot and under foot. Work stocking stitch in the round - AT THE SAME TIME decrease for toes on each side of both markers - READ DECREASE TIP (= 4 stitches decreased). Decrease like this on every other round 4-7-9 times in total and then on every round 6-3-2 times in total = 12-16-16 stitches. On next round knit all stitches together 2 by 2 = 6-8-8 stitches. Cut the yarn and pull it through the remaining stitches, tighten together and fasten. |
