GARTER ST (back and forth on needle): K all rows. GARTER ST (in the round): K 1 round, P 1 round. PATTERN: See diagram M.1 and M.2. Diagram shows the pattern from RS. Row 1 in diagram = RS. -------------------------------------------------------- BACK PIECE: Worked back and forth on circular needle. Cast on 84-92-100-112-124-140 sts (includes 1 edge st each side) on needle size 4.5 mm with 2 strands Alpaca. Work rib as follows – as seen from RS: 1 edge st, * K2, P2 *, repeat from *-* and finish with K2 and 1 edge st. REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION! When piece measures 4 cm change to needle size 5 mm and work 2 rows GARTER ST – see above, AT THE SAME TIME on row 1 dec 18-18-20-24-26-30 sts evenly = 66-74-80-88-98-110 sts. READ ALL OF THE FOLLOWING SECTION BEFORE CONTINUING! Now cast on new sts each side for sleeves, repeat at the end of every row each side as follows: 6 sts 3 times, 13-12-12-11-10-8 sts 2 times and 18-18-17-17-16-16 sts 1 time = 190-194-198-202-206-210 sts. WORK THE INC STS INTO THE FOLLOWING PATTERN AS YOU GO ALONG (work sts in M.1/M.2 in stocking st until they fit into pattern). MAKE SURE TO PLACE THE DIAGRAM CORRECTLY, so that you have as seen from beg of row from RS when all sts have been cast on: 1 edge st, P6, M.1, P6, K 35-36-37-38-39-40, P6, M.1, P2, M.2, P6, K 30-32-34-36-38-40 (these sts are mid back), P6, M.1, P2, M.2, P6, K 35-36-37-38-39-40, P6, M.2, P6, 1 edge st. Place markers in work to make it easier to count when working M.1 and M.2 when increasing. Continue this pattern until piece measures 35-37-39-41-43-45 cm, now cast off the middle 26-28-30-32-34-36 sts for neck and complete each shoulder separately = 82-83-84-85-86-87 sts left on each shoulder/sleeve. Cast off when piece measures 37-39-41-43-45-47 cm. RIGHT FRONT PIECE: Cast on 26-30-34-38-42-50 sts (includes 1 edge st at the side and 1 edge st towards front edge) on needle size 4.5 mm with 2 strands Alpaca. Work rib K2/P2 with 1 edge st each side. When piece measures 4 cm change to needle size 5 mm and work 2 rows garter st, AT THE SAME TIME on row 1 dec 5-6-8-9-9-12 sts evenly = 21-24-26-29-33-38 sts. Now cast on new sts at the end of every row from RS (at the side) as described for back piece = 83-84-85-86-87-88 sts. WORK THE INC STS INTO THE FOLLOWING PATTERN AS YOU GO ALONG – as seen from beg of row from RS, i.e. mid front: 1 edge st, K2, P6, M.1, P2, M.2, P6, K 35-36-37-38-39-40, P6, M.2, P6, 1 edge st. Continue this pattern until piece measures 37-39-41-43-45-47 cm, cast off. LEFT FRONT PIECE: Cast on and work like right front piece, but work pattern as follows – from RS and the side: 1 edge st, P6, M.1, P6, K 35-36-37-38-39-40, P6, M.1, P2, M.2, P6, K2, 1 edge st. ASSEMBLY: Sew shoulder seams. Sew under arm seams and side seams inside 1 edge st. FRONT BAND: Pick up 196-204-212-220-228-236 sts along right front piece, round neck and down along left front piece on circular needle size 4.5 mm with 2 strands. K1 row and continue as follows from RS: 5 garter sts, * K2, P2 *, repeat from *-* and finish with K2 and 5 garter sts. When piece measures 2-2-2-3-3-3 and 8-9-10-11-12-13 cm make buttonholes as follows: K tog 3rd and 4th st on right front and make 1 YO. On next row K YO. AT THE SAME TIME when front band measures 7 cm inc 1 st in each of the 10-10-10-12-12-12 middle P-sections (= mid back) = 206-214-222-232-240-248 sts. Continue in rib until front band measures 11-12-13-14-15-16 cm, cast off with K over K and P over P. CUFF: Pick up from RS 124-128-132-136-140-144 sts round sleeve edges on circular needle size 4.5 mm (60 cm) with 2 strands. Work 2 rounds GARTER ST - see above – and continue in rib K2/ P2 until piece measures 7 cm. Cast off with K over K and P over P. Sew buttons on left front band. |
