Knitting tension: Remember needle size is only a guide. 23 stitches x 30 rows with needle size 3.5 mm and stocking stitch = 10 x 10 cm Decrease tip (for neck): Decrease on inside of 1 edge stitch in stocking stitch. All decreases are worked from the right side. Decrease as follows after the 1 edge stitch: Slip 1 stitch as if to knit, K1, pass the slipped stitch over. Decrease as follows before the 1 edge stitch: K2 together. Lobster stitch: Work double crochets from the right side but in the opposite direction - i.e. from left to right. --------------------------------------------------------- Front piece: Cast on 52-62-72-82-94 stitches with needle size 3.5 mm and Silke-Tweed and work stocking stitch - at the same time, cast on new stitches in the sides for rounded edge every 2nd row (i.e. at the end of each row): 3 stitches 7 times, 4 stitches 1 time, 5 stitches 1 time and 6 stitches 1 time = 124-134-144-154-166 stitches (incl. 1 edge stitch in each side). Remember the knitting tension! When piece measures 32-33-34-35-36 cm decrease 1 stitch in each side (marks the armholes) = 122-132-142-152-164 stitches. When piece measures 43-45-47-48-50 cm, cast off the middle 34-34-36-36-36 stitches for neck. Then decrease on each side of the neck every 4th row - see Decrease tip: 1 stitch 4 times = 40-45-49-54-60 stitches left on each shoulder. When piece measures 50-52-54-56-58 cm, decrease to diagonal shoulders by casting off stitches from the side and in towards neck. Cast off every 2nd row (i.e. at the beginning of each row starting from shoulder): 13-15-16-18-20 stitches 2 times and 14-15-17-18-20 stitches 1 time. When all stitches are cast off, the piece measures approx. 52-54-56-58-60 cm. Back piece: Cast on and work as for front piece. Decrease for armholes as for front piece and continue working until piece measures 50-52-54-56-58 cm. Now decrease to diagonal shoulders as for front piece. At the same time, when piece measures 50-52-54-56-58 cm cast off the middle 38-38-40-40-40 stitches for neck. Then decrease on each side of neck every 2nd row - see Decrease tip: 1 stitch 2 times. When all stitches are cast off, piece measures approx. 52-54-56-58-60 cm. Sleeve: Cast on 50-52-54-56-58 stitches with needle size 3.5 mm and Silke-Tweed and work stocking stitch. At the same time increase for rounded edge in each side every 2nd row: 1 stitch 4 times = 58-60-62-64-66 stitches. When piece measures 4-6-8-8-4 cm from the cast-on edge, increase 1 stitch in each side every 3.5-3-2.5-2-2 cm a total of 12-13-14-17-18 times = 82-86-90-98-102 stitches. After the last increase, cast off all stitches, the sleeve measures approx. 43-42-41-40-38 cm - NOTE: Larger sizes have shorter sleeves because of wider body. Assembly: Crochet 1 row of double crochets along each shoulder on front and back pieces (work from the wrong side) with hook size 3.5 mm and Silke-Tweed, then change to Cotton Viscose and work 1 row of lobster stitch - se description above. Sew the shoulder seams from the right side with back stitch - see fig.1 - inside the 2 rows of crochet. Neck: Crochet 1 round of double crochets around the neck with hook size 3.5 mm and Silke-Tweed. Change to Cotton Viscose and work 1 round of double crochets, then work 1 round of lobster stitch. Sew a decorative seam using stem stitch - see fig.2 - around the whole neck with Cotton Viscose - sew outside the first round of double crochets. Sleeve: Crochet 1 row of double crochets along both sides and bottom of sleeve (do not work along top of sleeve) from the wrong side with hook size 3.5 mm and Silke-Tweed. Then change to Cotton Viscose and work 1 row of lobster stitch (do not work along top of sleeve). Sew sleeve seam from the right side inside the 2 rows of crochet with back stitch - start the seam approx. 3 cm from the bottom edge (= split) - NOTE: The sleeve seam is on top of the sleeve so that it meets the shoulder seam. Sew the side seam inside the 1 edge stitch (seam turns in towards wrong side). Sew in the sleeves (seam turns in towards wrong side), then sew a decorative seam using stem stitch around the whole of the armhole with Cotton Viscose. Bottom edge: Work 1 round of double crochet around bottom of body from the right side with hook size 3.5 mm and Silke-Tweed. Change to Cotton Viscose and work 1 round of lobster stitch. |
