Merci!

Bonjour Mme Joubert, 20 cm correspondent à du 32/34 et 22 cm à du 35/37. Bon tricot!

I am totally confused by all the numbers. What do they mean when they say "child-child-child-woman-(woman-woman-woman-man). I am a very experienced knitter/crocheter; but I don't know what you mean. The sized show: 41/2/6,71/2-91/2, and all the way to 111/2/14. So, if I just want to make a regular woman felted slipper, which number am I supposed to use? ( I just want a regular womans size. I were woman's eight. Thank you!
27.10.2016 - 08:58DROPS Design answered:
Dear Kay, these slippers can be worked in different sizes from children size 4½ to man size 11½/14. Women's size are from 2/4 to 10/12, choose the size matching the usual shoe size and follow that number all the way, eg if you choose size 5/6½, follow all instructions to the 5th size, ie cast on 24 sts, etc. If you like to get a size 7½/9, follow all 6th instructions, ie cast on 25 sts, etc. Happy knitting!

They all increase except in one place where the pattern says " 1-2-3-3 (3-3-2-2) times ". Should the amount be "4-4" for the second "2-2"?
24.09.2016 - 05:32DROPS Design answered:
Dear Caroline, the instructions are correct, you've to cast off sts st the beginning of every WS row and the numbers in the brackets are correct. Happy knitting!

I have knit up until I need to start casting on for the foot. Please tell me if I am understanding the increase properly. I should only increase on the right side rows, then on the decrease rows, I decrease on the Wrong side rows. That is, I do the increase/decrease on every other row.
02.12.2015 - 04:01DROPS Design answered:
Dear Mrs Matthews, that's correct: inc/cast on at the end of every row from RS (= every other row), and dec/cast off at the beg of every row from WS (= every other row). Happy knitting!

K 5 rows. Change to dark grey if started with off-white and and continue in stocking st, AT THE SAME TIME on first row dec 2 sts evenly = 17-18-19-21 (22-23-24-26) sts. REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION! When piece measures 13-15-15-17 (17-17-19-19) cm cast on new sts for foot at the end of every row from RS: 2 sts 2-2-2-2 (3-4-6-7) times and 1 st 1-2-3-3 (3-3-2-2) times = 22-24-26-28 (31-34-38-42) sts. When piece measures 37-40-43-47 (50-53-55-57) cm cast off sts at the beg of every row from WS: 1 st 1-2-3-3 (3-3-2-2) times and 2 sts 2-2-2-2 (3-4-6-7) times = 17-18-19-21 (22-23-24-26) sts. Continue until piece measures 52-58-63-69 (73-75-73-86) cm. P 1 row from WS, AT THE SAME TIME inc 2 sts evenly = 19-20-21-23 (24-25-26-28) sts. Change to off-white or continue with turquoise. K 5 rows (first row = RS) and cast off loosely. ASSEMBLY: Fold slipper double, WS towards WS, and sew tog mid back in outer loops of sts. Sew in the same way mid upper foot- and up along the leg but if there should be a split at mid front don't sew all the way up. Turn piece inside out, i.e. WS is now RS. FELTING: Wash slippers in the washing machine at 40 degrees with a detergent free of enzymes and optical bleach (usual spin and no pre-wash). Try the slippers on while still wet to shape them to the right size. Leave to dry. At subsequent washes wash slippers at a wool programme. Fold approx 3 to 5 cm at the top of leg towards RS. AFTER FELTING: If the piece is not felted enough and is too big: Wash the piece one more time in the washing machine while it is still wet add a terry towel that measures approx. 50 x 70 cm - NOTE: Do not use a short program. If the piece has been felted too much and is too small: While the piece is still wet stretch it to the correct measurements, if the piece is dry, make sure to soak it first. Remember: All subsequent washes are as a normal wool garment. |
