The beret ends with 48 stitches at the brim? 7 mm is large hook, is the yarn bulky?
04.02.2024 - 03:12DROPS Design answered:
Dear Doreen, this pattern uses a combination of a group B and a group C yarn, which would have a thickness between group D yarns (chunky) and group E yarns (super bulky). So yes, the combination of both threads will be similar to a bulky yarn. And yes, the lower edge of the beret will have 48 stitches. Happy knitting!

28.10.2016 - 12:38DROPS Design answered:
Hej Lise. Brushed Alpaca Silk. Se alternativerne her

Bon crochet !

Crochet tension: Remember hook size is only a guide. 10 treble crochets x 6 rows with hook size 7 mm and 1 strand Karisma + 1 strand Vivaldi = 10 x 10 cm. Crochet info-1: At beginning of every round/row, replace 1 treble crochet with 3 chain stitches and finish with 1 slip stitch in 3rd chain stitch at beginning of round/row. Work 1 treble crochet in every treble crochet - i.e. work in the treble crochet from previous round and not between treble crochets. Crochet info-2: As you are first working body and sleeves in the round and then back and forth, you will get a slightly different texture. Decrease tip: Decrease as follows at beginning of row: Replace 1 treble crochet with 1 slip stitch. Decrease as follows at end of row: Turn piece when you have left the number of treble crochets to be decreased and work back. --------------------------------------------------------------- Body: Read crochet info! Work 120-132-144-159-174 chain stitches with hook size 7 mm and 1 strand Karisma + 1 strand Vivaldi and form them to a ring with 1 slip stitch in first chain stitch. Work 1 treble crochet in each chain stitch but skip every 3rd chain stitch to end of round = 80-88-96-106-116 treble crochets on round. Insert 1 marker thread in each side = 40-44-48-53-58 treble crochets between marker threads - allow the marker threads to follow your work upwards. Then work in the round with 1 treble crochet in each treble crochet - see Crochet info-1. Remember the crochet tension! When piece measures 12 and 24 cm increase 1 treble crochet on each side of the marker threads in each side - increase 1 treble crochet by working 2 treble crochets in 1 treble crochet = 88-96-104-114-124 treble crochets on round. When piece measures 34-35-36-37-38 cm work next round as follows: Work 1 slip stitch in each of the 3 first treble crochets, work 38-42-46-51-56 treble crochets, turn piece and work back. Each piece is finished separately - See Crochet info-2! Front piece: = 38-42-46-51-56 treble crochets. Continue decreasing for armholes in each side on every row - see Decrease tip: 2 treble crochets 0-0-1-2-3 times and 1 treble crochet 1-2-2-2-2 times = 36-38-38-39-40 treble crochets. When piece measures 47-49-51-53-55 cm, cast off for neck as follows: Work 13-14-14-14-14 treble crochets, turn piece and work back. Then decrease towards neck on every row - see Decrease tip: 1 treble crochet 3 times = 10-11-11-11-11 treble crochets left on shoulder. Cut strand when piece measures 54-56-58-60-62 cm. Repeat on other side. Back piece: Work 1 slip stitch in each of the first 3 treble crochets after the marker thread, work 38-42-46-51-56 treble crochets, turn piece and work back (= 6 treble crochets opening in each side). Then decrease for sleeves as for front piece = 36-38-38-39-40 treble crochets. When piece measures 52-54-56-58-60 cm cast off for neck as follows: Work 11-12-12-12-12 treble crochets, turn piece and work back. Then decrease 1 treble crochet on next row towards neck = 10-11-11-11-11 treble crochets left on shoulder. Cut strand when piece measures 54-56-58-60-62 cm. Repeat on other side. Sleeve: Read Crochet info-1! Work 42-45-45-48-51 chain stitches with hook size 7 mm and 1 strand Karisma + 1 strand Vivaldi and form them to a ring with 1 slip stitch. Work 1 treble crochet in each chain stitch but skip every 3rd chain stitch to end of round = 28-30-30-32-34 treble crochets on round. Insert 1 marker thread at the beginning of the round and allow the marker thread to follow your work upwards. Continue in the round with 1 treble crochet in each treble crochet. When piece measures 17-18-18-19-20 cm increase 1 treble crochet on each side of marker thread mid under sleeve every 9.5-9-6.5-5-4 cm a total of 4-4-5-6-6 times - increase 1 treble crochet by working 2 treble crochets in 1 treble crochet = 36-38-40-44-46 treble crochets. When sleeve measures 50-49-47-46-44 cm work the next round as follows: Work 1 slip stitch in each of the first 3 treble crochets, work 30-32-34-38-40 treble crochets, turn piece and work back. The sleeve is finished working back and forth - see Crochet info-2. Then decrease for sleeve cap in each side on every row - see Decrease tip: 2 treble crochets 1 time and then 1 treble crochet until piece measures 58 cm. Assembly: Sew shoulder seams. Neck: Crochet around neck with hook size 7 mm and 1 strand Karisma + 1 strand Vivaldi as follows (start in left side): 6 to 8 treble crochets from shoulder down shaped edge of front neckline, 10 to 12 treble crochets mid front, 6 to 8 treble crochets along shaped edge to shoulder, 2 treble crochets along shaped edge of back neckline, 14 to 16 treble crochets centre back of neck, 2 treble crochets along shaped edge up to shoulder = approx. 40 to 48 treble crochets around neck. Work treble crochets in the round until neck measures 22 cm, cut the strand. Sew in sleeves, edge to edge so the seam is not thick. Round 8: Work 1 treble crochet in each treble crochet, but in every 7th treble crochet work 2 treble crochets = 72 treble crochets, finish with 1 slip stitch in first treble crochet. The piece now measures approx. 25 cm in diameter. Round 9: Work 1 treble crochet in each treble crochet (no increases). Then start to decrease. Round 10: Work 1 treble crochet in each treble crochet, but skip every 6th treble crochet = 60 treble crochets, finish with 1 slip stitch in first treble crochet. Round 11: Work 1 treble crochet in each treble crochet, but skip every 5th treble crochet = 48 treble crochets. Then work 3 rounds with 1 double crochet in each stitch, cut strand and fasten. The beret measures approx. 21 cm up to top. Bag: Work back and forth and then sew the bottom and the one side together to finish. Read Crochet info! Work 46 loose chain stitches (incl. 3 stitches to turn) with hook size 7 mm and Snow. Then work 1 treble crochet in each chain stitch (= 43 treble crochets). Continue to work treble crochets upwards until piece measures approx. 29 cm, finish with 2 rows of double crochets, cut the strand. Sew the bag together in the side and along the bottom, edge to edge so the seam is not thick. Straps: Work 7 chain stitches (incl. 3 stitches to turn) with hook size 7 mm. Then work 1 treble crochet in each chain stitch = 5 treble crochets (first treble crochet = 3 chain stitches). Work treble crochets until the strap measures approx. 55 cm, cut the strand. Work 1 more strap. Sew 1 strap on each side of the bag, approx. 2 cm in from the side - sew edge to edge so that the seam is not thick. |
